Look like a lap dancer forever ;) I'm 32 this year, is it time for the chop ?

that was to Mrs Badger btw, Peachy I'm sure your face is gorgeous to look at.

bookwormmum · 19/06/2007 19:33

I think it was probably as they both have bobbed shoulderlength hair - they're just envious that mine is longer theirs!! I had to wait until my teens to grow mine though as my mum kept my hair convict-short until I was about 12 until I persuaded her that I needed it longer for ballet .

FWIW, I couldn't grow my hair to waistlength as I think the weight of it would make it fall out. Shoulder-blades is as about as far as I could go.

ahundredtimes · 19/06/2007 19:34

BUT do you think Hideehi should cut her waist length hair? I do.

elkiedee · 19/06/2007 19:36

Oops, I'm almost 38 with long scruffy hair which hasn't been cut for more than 10 years. It was cut in a layered bob, so well I can still see the layers, but I'm sure the split ends are dreadful. It's just short of my bra strap or chest but that's because it's as long as it will grow, I'd love to have good waist length hair. I find it easier to tie back long hair out of my way when I need to.

I don't look like a lap dancer or a mormon though, but I don't agree that women should only have long hair until a certain age. I think different lengths suit different people. Very short hair actually suited me well but I would have to go to the hairdresser every 6 weeks to look good with short hair and it's never going to happen, I'm too nervous to look for a new hairdresser. I moved to London from Leeds 12 years ago and carried on going home to get my hair cut for just over a year, but that hairdressers has closed since then.

Maybe take a few inches off to let the hair curl up a bit. It's surprising how much hair bounces up when after it's cut .

ahundredtimes · 19/06/2007 19:39

Cut it.

MrsBadger · 19/06/2007 19:40

[brusque judgemental hat on]

Hideehi should have hers cut up to her brastrap - it'll look better and if she decides she likes it shorter she can always cut more off bit by bit.

Elkiedee should brave a new hairdresser and have cut 6" off hers - it'll still be plenty long enough to tie back fgs. I mean you can tie back a between-chin-and-shoulder bob.
It'll still be 'long' but will look much much better.

I should confess the hair isn't even mine, it's extensions, when they went in I thought the longer the better after all that's what I've paid for but now I feel bra strap length probably is more becoming for a woman my age, plus it won't take 4 hours to dry.

ahundredtimes · 19/06/2007 19:48

Hurrah. I think you're right. Do you cut extensions or do you take them out and have different length ones put in?

kookaburra · 19/06/2007 19:50

30, max - looks sad & mad on old ladies

NKF · 19/06/2007 19:54

Depends on the rest of you really but it mustn't have even a touch of grey. Long greying hair is witchypoo.

ahundredtimes · 19/06/2007 19:55

Yes and always looks so DRY.

hatwoman · 19/06/2007 19:56

at kookabura. over 30 old???

SSSandy2 · 19/06/2007 19:57

How strong is your own hair at the roots? If it's starting to thin, the weight of the extensions could be a bad thing. So far as I know, extensions can be cut just like your own hair can. Why not go to a decent hairdresser and see what they think. If you like the way you look, the hair is not falling off your head and leaving dry patches etc, why not leave it?

SaintGeorge · 19/06/2007 19:57

Remind me never to go to a meetup with you lot.

ahundredtimes · 19/06/2007 19:57

We are discussing waistlength hair, Hat, not just longish. Mrs Badger has declared bra strap length to be acceptable. I'm just cheering from the sidelines, trying to get everyone to cut their hair orf.

SSSandy2 · 19/06/2007 19:58

leavign BALD patches I meant to say

My hair couldn't carry the weight of extensions really

MrsBadger · 19/06/2007 19:58

ah but StG you are a genuine hippy, are you not?

True MrsB, but no one has come out and said it is ok for die-hard hippies to have long hair.

So far I am a mormon lap dancing old slapper (with tits pointing in the correct direction), sad, mad and have witchypoo dry hair.

Raspberries to the lot of you.

Prpppppppppppppppppppppppp

hatwoman · 19/06/2007 20:09

I might have misread her - it wasn't the hair aspect I was reacting to it was the apparent equation - of 30 and old ladies, but maybe that was unintended. I don;t like waist length hair on any age (sorry hideehi - in any case you'll get it caught in your wiring!), But I have slightly longer than shoulder length hair and it's not dry, or thin. has a smidge of grey though. I'm 36.

foxinsocks · 19/06/2007 20:17

chop it - shorter hair (as in shorter than waist length) is much easier to look after too

I look ok in winter hats (am always being told that so it must be true ) but I think it's because I'm Mrs Conehead so the more that's covered up, the better!

Rachmumoftwo · 19/06/2007 20:32

32 is the new 22. People are doing stuff an average of 10 years later, settling down in their 30s rhather than 20s, having kids later, etc. Not everyone, but there is definitely a trend in that direction. Why cut your hair just because you are 32? I say if you want long hair have long hair- even if you are 90!
