I need something to make me look beautiful in the mornings...

Ok maybe not beautiful... Acceptable would be fine 😬

I'm late 20s with a 6 month old baby and 6 year old DSD. I'm back at work so life feels like it's crazier than ever but with less sleep.

I don't tend to wear make up daily, but I need something I can stick on my face on the morning and just look better. I have very pale skin, neither dry or oily and don't tend to get spots other than certain times of the month.

What do I need? BB cream (which I have and must be doing wrong because its not great)? Tinted moisturiser? I'm clueless 🤷‍♀️

Tinted moisturiser (or your favourite moisturiser and foundation mixed together)

Also get your eyebrows done. Find somewhere that does them how you like them (took a while for me because I'm in Liverpool and I don't like the slug look).

Get them threaded/waxed and tinted.

Makes a massive difference. I tend to not wear make-up much if my eyebrows are done except maybe a bit of mascara /concealer for the odd spot.

I'm only a recent convert to eyebrows but done well it's easily the easiest way to look a bit more pur together

Thanks for the tips!

Do you have a tinted moisturiser you would recommend?

I am so fair, I look like a ghost without makeup, so if I had to pick ONE item to make me look alive it would be blusher.
Clinique cheek pop is lovely and has a slight sheen to it.

If I was going for 5 minute to apply makeup, I would choose under eye concealer (Maybelline Instant Eraser), loose powder, blush, lipstick and mascara.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/11/2018 13:31

I think a touch of blusher makes a massive difference to how tired you look. Pinkish tones rather than apricot if you’re fair skinned. And a teeny bit of colour on your lips (tinted gloss?)

I have to say, though, as I’ve got older I’ve had to wear more makeup than I used to do to look less haggard so I do the full lot now. Foundation, eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow wax, bit of blusher, pinky lip colour (but darker than my own lips)

I feel much better with it on. In fact when I went into labour at 2am with my second child, I actually put some makeup on before I left ge house! Grin. Didn’t want photos taken with me wearing nothing (I don’t have the best skin). And then bloody DH forgot to take the camera is it was for nothing anyway!!!

I've never found one (or a bb cream) that I've got along with, I'm also ridiculously pale and they're all a bit orange for me.

I mix a bit of hourglass with some aveeno and keep it in a little pot. Does the trick for me

HereBeFuckery · 10/11/2018 13:33

I'm pale and I like No 7 City Light tinted moisturiser. Goes on really easily (I just sort of rub it in but not as much as moisturiser).
Then a bit of blush and eyebrow pencil.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/11/2018 13:40

Ooh just googled Cheek Pop in an image search and blimey, there are some badly applied blushers on there! Big pink obvious stripes etc. Make sure you make it subtle, OP. You want “healthy glow”, not “Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummidge”

Megan2018 · 10/11/2018 13:46

Benefit dandelion!
Tinted moisturiser and a bit of dandelion all over makes me look alive!

BikeRunSki · 10/11/2018 13:48

An ugly partner.... 😊

iwillkeepthishouseclean · 10/11/2018 13:53

David beckham would make me look better in the morning preferably with me on him .... but as I can't have him serum from aldi with a small drop of my foundation drops no7! so I can apply a little more later ...

TheClitterati · 10/11/2018 14:19

What billywig suggests works for me.

The boots tinted moisturiser is fab and often on offer.

OHolyNightOwl · 10/11/2018 16:17

I have to embrace the pale-ness in the winter, tinted moisturiser looks wrong unless I fake tan the whole body and bronzer looks muddy.
He-shi fake tan is excellent if you want a glow though. Lasts about a week and so easy to apply.

madnessIsay · 10/11/2018 16:19

bronzer - try Nars/Chanel or Guerlain

BuffaloCauliflower · 10/11/2018 20:15

Hourglass ambient lighting palette, the one with three powders in. Big brush, apply all over your face. Makes you look instantly brighter and well slept. Saved me a lot when I was working long hours with lots of work related drinking involved.

stoplickingthetelly · 10/11/2018 20:53

The Rosie for Autograph radiance primer and Becca undereye corrector are both great. Feel they help to give me a bit of glow.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 10/11/2018 21:12

boots do a sort of concentrated foundation thing that you add a drop or two to your moisturiser depending on the level of coverage you want, its No7 Match Made CUSTOM BLEND Foundation Drops

PerpetualStudent · 10/11/2018 21:16

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and glossier haloscope highlighter and concealer is my post-baby hero trio. Add a slick of mascara and head out to playgroup looking human!

ILoveAutum · 10/11/2018 21:17

Clean hair, lip gloss and a smile. You’re in your 20’s make the most of it!

OHolyNightOwl · 10/11/2018 21:18

I took a quick pic when we were out this afternoon (brutal day light, sorry that it looks a bit harsh), as it sounds like we have the same type of skin and are equally pale.

This is my 10 min makeup, using concealer, a dusting of loose powder, brown eye shadow, clinique cheek pop blusher in plum, pop lipstick in plum and mascara.

For you who recommend bronzers, do you think I should/could wear one seeing how cold/pale I am? Which one? Apply like I would in the summer, on high points? And on my neck I guess? I only get more pale as winter goes as well. #ghost

CoperCabana · 10/11/2018 21:22

I have this

www.wilko.com/en-uk/essence-glow-to-go-highlighter-palette-10/p/0472779?nst=0&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIybyezuDK3gIVCImyCh1xxwKbEAQYBiABEgJi7_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

And honestly, I have had so many comments on my skin and glow. I am a lot older than you but reckon the effect would be even better at your age.

Cheap as chips so worth a try?

UpToonGirl · 10/11/2018 21:48

Not a makeup tip but I do find if I spend a few minutes when applying my night cream, really massaging it into the skin, maybe around a minute and a half, I look better in the morning.

Ohyesiam · 10/11/2018 21:53

Clarinet beauty flash balm.
Makes me look10 years younger in an instant.

hendricksy · 11/11/2018 08:37

Body shop bb cream is great

JMAngel1 · 11/11/2018 09:08

Nightowl, you look gorgeous - don't use bronzer - that lip shade is so pretty with your skin - ethereal.

EyeRolls · 11/11/2018 09:16

Just to add- I found a primer by Revlon called photoready and it's beautiful stuff!
