Anyone bought any lovely new makeup recently?

Went shopping yesterday and bought a chanel lipstick (my first one) a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow stick and Becca undereye corrector, which I've never had before. Usually use Bobbi Brown but don't love it so going to give this a go. Love buying new makeup and trying out new bits. Anyone bought anything recently that they would recommend (or not)?

YSL Volupté Liquid Colour Balm in 11 Hook Me Berry. The yummy melon scent is a plus!

@SapphireSeptember - Yes I love Revolution lipsticks, and the MUA eyeshadow palettes are pretty much the only ones I use!

@LadyOfTheCanyon - Thank you, my holiday tan will soon wear off and I'll be very white again until June, so should be ok for now (plus am useless at contouring my round face haha!)

It was an embarrassing £69. But it is SO LOVELY. And almost every time I use it, someone has said to me in a wondering tone of voice "You look really... well!" And a male friend with no interest in make up waved a hand in front of his face and said "Och, you're all healthy looking!"

I thought it would be about that price but sounds worth every penny!

@LadyoftheCanyon
I completely agree!

A similar thing was had by the Guerlain meteorites. First time I wore them DH told me how lovely I look but couldn’t put his finger on why 🤔

They are worth a look too if you haven’t tried them

Those of you who use eyeshadow sticks as mentioned upthread, how do you put these on ? I'm completely new to eyeshadow , do you just roll it over the lid and smudge it out a bit ? I'm no good with eyeshadow brushes that's why I've given up with eyeshadow but could be tempted with a stick thing

@Ooogetyooo I love these and tend to draw over my lower eyelid and blend with my finger or a brush if I'm using my LM caviar stick.

Found out that Mac do a small range of 'trial' type make up for £10. I wanted to try Ruby Woo which I know is hit or miss on these boards but could not find it. I looked on line and they had the trial size of it and also got two free samples (a blue eyeliner gel and a prep and prime).

I was prepared to find it too drying but am rather pleased with it.

I haven't bought them yet but Kiko eye sticks - I have tried these and they are budge proof once dry so will be next on the purchase list.

Was in need of new makeup and a bit of an overhaul and really pleased with my most recent purchase of CC cream and concealer from It Cosmetics. Also bought the setting powder compact as well as blush/highlighter. All work beautiful together. Am so pleased with my new glowy look.

I've got a few of the bobbi brown eyeshadow sticks and they're great. So quick and easy when time is short. I just roll them over my eyelid and slightly up into the crease then blend it in with my finger. They last all day too.
