I had botox today!

I've wanted it for years, for my scary vertical frown line, or as DS calls it 'the crack in your head'.

Found a highly rated place near me (Morningside, Edinburgh) and went for a consultation today. The lady was so knowledgeable and reassuring I took her up immediately on her offer to administer the goods there and then.

Five easy peasy tiny pricks later I was out. I've had more painful eyebrow waxes.

There will be no result for about 7 days then complete result by 14. I have a follow up appointment in 14 days.

I'm trying to manage my expectations because it's what they call a static line so botox won't erase it, it's more of a softening plus prevention of it getting even deeper.

As an experience I rate it ten out of ten, let's see what the next two weeks bring! I'll post pics if anyone's interested. Oh and it cost 200 quid.

I had Botox back in March for the lines on my head, they looked like a gate when I frowned. I loved the result paid £135 for 3 areas (crows feet, gate on forehead and the lines your on about) had it all done by a dentist very highly recommend when they had their sale on. I need it done again now it's just wore off.

ParkheadParadise · 01/11/2018 19:03

I've had Botox for the last couple of years.
I get 3 area's done, last's about 4mths.
I love the results.

AnonaMouse1 · 01/11/2018 19:07

Is it suitable for the baggy skin under the chin?

Hauskat · 01/11/2018 19:08

I want to get it for precisely the same line! Please post befores and afters!

Bluntness100 · 01/11/2018 19:09

No Botox isn't for baggy skin under the chin, it's smooths wrinkles only.

CreepyPasta · 01/11/2018 20:07

I’ve had Botox for that area twice now OP. It’s completely gone! I no longer look permanently angry!

itsbritneybiatches · 01/11/2018 20:10

I get my forehead horizontal lines done. It hadn't erased them but it's softened them 90%.

I'm going back January when they hopefully have a sale. It's £300 for three areas.

I might shop about it seems really expensive after reading this.

I love Botox. Did before and after pics and it's made a big difference for me

MorrisZapp · 01/11/2018 20:27

Ooh, I've had it 3 times for my 11s. Bloody love it. I'm due again actually. The only thing I don't like is the shiny forehead after.

MorrisZapp · 01/11/2018 20:31

God I look like a serial killer! Honestly that is my relaxed brow.

MorrisZapp · 01/11/2018 20:33

I'd love a shiny forehead! Dry as a desert here. Makeup looks like tippex smeared on sandpaper on me.

While we're here, does anybody say 'forrid' for forehead? It reminds me of nursery rhymes.

Also she banned me from facials or eyebrow waxing for two weeks. My eyebrows are terrible! In two weeks I'll be a new bloody woman.

Thinking about this, is it weird not being able to move your forehead though? I'm also worried it'll give me a heavy set brow, instead of a lift, iyswim. As I have slightly hooded lids already...

HollowTalk · 01/11/2018 20:43

Ooh I'm going to placemark here so that I can see the difference!

WishIwasanastronaut · 01/11/2018 20:44

I had Botox in the past and shortly after I developed a thyroid problem.
I haven’t had it since as there is a niggling voice in my head telling me the two could be somehow related...
Please tell me i am being loopy. I am really tempted to have it again.

JessicaPeach · 01/11/2018 20:45

You can move your forehead sausage, you feel like it's exactly the same. I had 3 areas done last year and I found it great for my dark circles and hooded lids. It was like a bit of a lift so the shadows didn't look so dark. Make up went on like a dream too, particularly in that eye area.

Ollivander84 · 01/11/2018 20:45

Here's my before and after. I had it between my eyebrows and across my forehead

KeysHairbandNotepad · 01/11/2018 20:48

Keep us posted op! I've been considering this for years.

DragonMamma · 01/11/2018 20:51

I’m seriously considering this, or whatever will sort my nasolabial lines out - they are so deep! Any advice on whether it should be Botox or fillers? I smile...a lot!

cheshireagain · 01/11/2018 20:53

I had my lips done today!
Not had it done in years and feeling very drab post baby!

Keen to try Botox and Profhilo next

backinaminute · 01/11/2018 21:21

I have a similar problem and this year it seems to have got worse all of a sudden. I'm watching with interest, hope it gives you the results you want OP

FellSwoop · 01/11/2018 23:24

I had my first botox today too!

Italianna · 01/11/2018 23:32

So tempted. How did you find a good reputable place without asking people for recommendations?
