Here we go again!

And by popular demand, here are the previous threads:

Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

@queenoftheandals true! Poor Kate! They all have a few faux pas it’s just unfortunate for Meghan she’s had a lot of appearances all at once during the tour so it seems worse I think. If her friend is advising her I think she needs to find someone else tbh. You need someone who understands about royal protocol and etiquette and how it all works, and I don’t see how her friend can.

DisMember · 31/10/2018 08:11

Really like the Givenchy two piece; not wildly keen on the Stella, MM has worn better navy dresses.

frugalkitty · 31/10/2018 08:11

Given her experience with the red carpet etc I'm surprised she hasn't been more in tune with checking how things photograph. Still, to channel my 79 year old mother 'she should have worn a petticoat' Grin

mmmgoats · 31/10/2018 08:20

Do you think there is some kind of official debrief of all aspects of the tour including outfits when they get back? I’ve always assumed that kind of thing is par for the course for Royal appearances/tours

Spudlet · 31/10/2018 08:37

I guess the red carpet is a more controlled environment in some ways though - fewer photographers at random places, as I think they try to keep them in one place, so you can control their angles, and fewer vagaries with the lighting, unlike a walkabout which could be in bright sunlight or pouring rain.

Going back to the slimness thing - a Royal used to attend the annual conference as I did. There were certainly biscuits and canapés and things, but she never got them! At the coffee break she was meeting and greeting VIPs, and I doubt she'd have been spraying them with biscuit crumbs Grin Then she has a private lunch, so she could control what she got there, then more circulating - so no chance to raid the buffet table.

So although they could eat any food they wished, they also have a lot more control than someone just attending as normal, so can make sure they aren't presented with temptation, rather than having to try and resist it like the plebs do. It's a lot easier to say no to a theoretical biscuit than it is to resist when they're waved underneath your nose.

Agree that the Givenchy two piece looked lovely.

Cute socks, Ahoy!

Spudlet · 31/10/2018 08:37

the same annual conference as me

AhoyDelBoy · 31/10/2018 08:37

You’re not wrong there Vanilla but I’ve always found you get used to the smell pretty quick so don’t notice it after awhile. Thank god Meghan wasn’t in a g-string Blush

AhoyDelBoy · 31/10/2018 08:40

Aren’t they cute Donkeys, she also has Meghan and the Queen Grin

AhoyDelBoy · 31/10/2018 08:41

You would hope so mmmgoats. To learn from mistakes made so they’re not made again!

Also being photographed scoffing eating = rarely a good look.

Think they just need to look at these threads & invite a few of us to comment Grin

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 31/10/2018 08:53

Love the skirt and jumper combo!

Jjacobb · 31/10/2018 08:57

My dh bought me those socks a few years ago as a joke. I'm not sure where from but it was UK based and they cost less than a fiver.

EmGee · 31/10/2018 09:01

I'm struck by the Kate photos pre/post-babies. I think she looks utterly fabulous in the rowing/cycling pics. Really strong, toned and athletic. Sort of solid but obvs slender. I sometimes think more recent pics show her to be more waif-like. I wonder if anyone photoshoots these photos to make her look thinner?

Either way, I still think she looks the epitome of elegance. I prefer her style to Meghan's. Meghan is however unbelievably stunning, and looks such a natural beauty.

bruffin · 31/10/2018 09:02

I worked for a Princess Anne charity and one of her rules were no photos when sh wad eating.
Im on holiday in NZ, saw Meghan and Harry in Rotorua. She looked lovely. I booked tjis holiday in february. We are only in Rotorua 2 days, so coincidence.

Spudlet · 31/10/2018 09:07

Me too bruffin - and yep, it was her eating in the private room! Can't blame her really - my family always seem to manage to take photos of me when I'm mid-chew at family events, and they're always awful. I used to find it really upsetting when I was a teenager with the self-esteem of a louse.

Wonder if we used to be colleagues? Although she does so many charities, the chances are probably slim...

bruffin · 31/10/2018 09:08

It was the one named after her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/10/2018 09:09

Meghan’s two piece Givenchy video
DM link; you have to scroll down for the video

The royal blue is inside the pleats so you get flashes of it when she moves. It is so stylish

When Meghan is hugging the little girl, she reminds me of Diana,
The pair of them are great. Equally good at working the crowds. And it is Harry who reaches for Meghan’s hand when it is over.

In the way that Diana broke the mould in the way Royals interacted with the person bloc; Harry & ,Meghan have taken it to the next level

bruffin · 31/10/2018 09:11

She did eat at a sit down dinner and ball we had but there was a ban on photography when she ate.

owlshooting · 31/10/2018 09:12

Love that dress, but the transparency is a total gaffe! I would really like to know who her stylist is and who is advising her. Agree that she needs to be sacked pronto!! Imagine if any of the other royals turned up in a transparent dress! Reminds me of the Diana photo in the kindergarten.

Spudlet · 31/10/2018 09:14

Nope, not colleagues then. I was one of the horsey ones.

I didn't know about that specific rule but it makes sense - come to think, I'm not sure I can recall any photos of the Royals eating. Photos at tables at banquets and looking at novelty cheeses and things yes, but actually consuming food? Not that I can think of.

bruffin · 31/10/2018 09:14

A huge ahh went up on the crowd when she was with little girl, but dh and i couldnt see what happened

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 31/10/2018 09:15

Well done bruffin S&B's roving reporter!
Smile

RainbowsArePretty · 31/10/2018 09:18

Love the Givenchy, the colour is amazing!
