Marks & Spencer advent calendar

Is available in stores and online from Thursday 1st November.

It costs £35, if you spend £35 on clothing, beauty or home.

I can't wait to get one and start opening it in December, I've had a sneaky look at the contents online and its looks very good this year.

I emailed them to complain I hadn't got the sparks offer. I have been a member since it started, have lots of points and buy the advent calendar every year. They were very unhelpful in a bit of an oh well that's tough luck kind of way! Glad I have my sparks voucher so I can get free nominated delivery on all those hampers I buy though
I'm really hoping they are in stock when I order Thursday. How do we know what things can be used for the £35? I have a basket eating at the minute but now not sure if it all counts towards getting the advent calendar

LightastheBreeze · 30/10/2018 17:35

Well my calendar turned up, it had been misplaced in the M&S stockroom, I think I looked visibly anxious when several members of staff were searching for it.

I am going to put it away now though.

LightastheBreeze · 30/10/2018 17:38

This is what qualifies for the £35, from the Sparks email:

Simply spend £35 on clothing, beauty or home online and you'll get our indulgent beauty advent calendar for just £35 while stock lasts

Has anyone opened the calendar (not the boxes, just the book)? Mine smells really strong, just wondering if others do or if something has leaked....

Mine is ordered too ! Can’t wait 😊

Skinfulnappies46 · 30/10/2018 21:32

No spoilers though please!

BeaLola · 30/10/2018 22:14

PurpleOctober mine came yesterday and I took it out of the plastic wrap and opened the calendar (not the actual boxes) to check that nothing was leaking/ damaged. All was ok and there was no smell as such.

No spoilers but if anyone wants a complete surprise get a DH or friend to cover up the back of the box as it lists all the contents - but not in any order , I presume . I was very happy with it - have had them each year - this could be a fave year for me

I just had a ‘live chat’ to try to get to the bottom of the preview offer and £35 details- but it wasn’t a very clear or satisfactory response, the the chat was ended! I was told it was only available to certain Sparks card holders ( not ckearvwho qualifies and who doesn’t) and that on Nov 1st it will be available ‘to buy’ but no clarity about the £35 offer...

BeaLola · 30/10/2018 22:33

EspressoButler

Not saying these are necessarily the cheapest but things I have bought from there recently that were smallish in cost but useful ....

Lip balm - the ESO ones - love them
The lifeology handrcream and also hand wash
Room spray £6
The initial mugs £5 - they are two toned colours with upper and lower case initial - £5 - bought got TAS at school
Always tights !
Kitchen spoons, stirrers, spatulas
Christmas fragranced candle
342 on knickers

TrashyTerf · 30/10/2018 22:42

Their sun cream is quite good and reasonably priced.

SuperstarDJ · 01/11/2018 03:56

Still not on my sparks but it’s live on the website now for non-sparks users snd I’m awake due to being 36 wks pregnant and majorly uncomfortable so have ordered. First year that I’ve done so as it’s normaluy OOS by the time I get round to it. Disproportionately excited Grin

strongnosugar · 01/11/2018 07:13

I had a response from MmS to say it should be available to Sparks holders- not sure why not to me. However, in the early hours the one in my basket automatically dropped to £35. Ordered! Woohoo!

Question, online you can use 3 for 2 to your advantage as all the value of the three items counts towards the "over £35" spend.

Does it work like that in store as well?

Example is there is 3 for 2 on Christmas diffusers, so I add three to basket at £15 each so it's £45 total but £30 after 3 for 2.

The basket reduces the beauty calendar down so total spend is £65 inc the calendar?!

I would buy it online but I have a stupid credit note that can only be used in store!

fatpatsthong · 01/11/2018 11:28

Can you get this in the outlet stores or just the proper ones?

Richlyfruited · 01/11/2018 13:02

I finally ordered mine this morning as never got the Sparks early bird offer Angry must admit I feel a bit peed off with M&S about it as I've got loads of Sparks points but didn't stop me ordering one when it was finally launched Grin

Excited now!

latedecember1963 · 01/11/2018 14:01

I've been to the Trafford Centre this morning to get mine!

fitflopqueen · 01/11/2018 19:16

They were piled high at Handforth Dean this afternoon, looking forward to December and haven't looked at the contents.

YouWereRight · 02/11/2018 09:32

I went to buy it, with gift cards as my £35 spend, but it isn't including gift cards in the initial spend, which is a bummer. What else can I buy, I have zero inspiration.

TrashyTerf · 02/11/2018 10:04

The candles and home fragrances are on 3 for 2. They have some christmassy ones.

Whatsnewwithyou · 02/11/2018 10:05

I bought a fleece and a shirt for my DH for Christmas for my £35 spend. I would have bought them anyway so was happy with that.

TokyoSushi · 02/11/2018 10:08

I couldn't afford one last year and was really jealous of you all!

I'm going to hold my nerve this year and see if they do the thing close to the end of November when you can 'just' buy one for £35 rather than the additional £35 spend, we shall see!

latedecember1963 · 02/11/2018 10:20

I got my son's GF a Percy & Reed box of mini hair products for her birthday (£16), DH undies to put away for Christmas (18) and a royal jelly hand wash which was either £3 or £3.50.
I've put mine away in the spare room. I had a quick sneaky peak at the contents list at the back, but I can only remember a few so I don't feel I've spoilt the surprise too much.

youngestisapsycho · 02/11/2018 10:21

I never got a Sparks offer, I have over 90,000 points! I did order a calendar yesterday tho along with some christmas presents so all is good!
