Mens aftershave on women

If you wear men's aftershave, as a woman, what fragrance / brand do you wear. I'm not a floral perfume person and would like a very subtle men's fragrance as I like more
Masculine smells...

Prada Luna rossa carbon. I love it

bitofabelly · 20/10/2018 19:55

Thank you..was second guessing myself liking masculine fragrances, so will definitely suss this one. I'm really not into sweet or floral perfumes..but would love a subtle unisex one..

CK Obsession for Men

Siun · 20/10/2018 19:58

I really love Burberry Weekend for men. I don't like the woman's one

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/10/2018 19:59

Tom Ford, Tuscan Leather.

DCITennison · 20/10/2018 20:07

I much prefer men’s fragrances on me, preferably something woody/fresh or woody/warm depending on my mood.
Gucci Homme II is gorgeous.
I really like some of the more masculine of the unisex Jo Malones like english oak and hazelnut or wood sage and sea salt.
Still on the lookout for my perfect scent though, and I’ll continue to mainly try men’s fragrences.

BrokenFlipflop · 20/10/2018 20:17

I wear it every day and yes I do receive a lot of compliments

ToBeClear · 20/10/2018 20:21

Any of the Hermès are gorgeous

bitofabelly · 20/10/2018 20:34

Ooh thank you everyone...dying to have a sniff of your suggestions...I love the smell of Creed but it's probably too strong

I quite often wear my OH’s aftershaves, whichever one takes my fancy. I love the men’s Allure on me. He’s given me his Armani Diamond (I think that’s what it is called) as he doesn’t like it on him but it’s nice on me.

IAmcuriousyellow · 20/10/2018 21:49

Eau Sauvage for me - and the amazing Diorella is similar, a mannish perfume but beautiful

Jack65 · 20/10/2018 21:52

Escape for men, and men's Dior, I confess I've been using men's aftershave for years. I hate the florally smell of a lot of the women's.

RaininSummer · 20/10/2018 21:58

I love Million. Prefer it to all my scents.

DoctorTwo · 20/10/2018 22:15

An ex of mine used to 'borrow' my Issey Miyake Pour Homme because she loved it. Tbh, she suited it.

HexeSauerkraut · 20/10/2018 22:21

Juniper Sling from Penhaligons - I love it, really fresh scent but aromatic, not sweet.

PlaydoughBarbershop · 20/10/2018 23:17

The original Burberry for men is absolutely gorgeous! But right now I am wearing Jean Paul Gaultier pour male. Both classics and last for hours!

TheOud · 21/10/2018 00:14

Roma Uomo by Laura Biagiotti has been my trusty favourite for over 30 years. Never come across anything similar. I stock up when I visit family in Germany because I haven’t found it in the UK for years. It’s available online too. It’s warm and not too strong and I think of it as more of a women’s smell than a mans. I never ever get tired of it. It’s unique imo. My DBs ex wore it and I fell instantly in love with it and have worn it ever since.

cantquitebelieveit12 · 21/10/2018 07:55

Hermes d’terre.

OrigamiZoo · 21/10/2018 12:07

I also wear Eau Savage!

prettybird · 21/10/2018 12:11

Chanel's Anteus Smile

TigsytheTiger · 21/10/2018 20:20

I like more masculine scents too and wear Jo Malone English Oak and Hazlenut - people always comment and want to know what it is

Babdoc · 21/10/2018 20:24

I like the original men’s Tommy aftershave by Tommy Hilfiger. It’s v light and subtle, not sickly, overpowering, flowery or musky like a lot of female perfumes.

LanaorAna2 · 21/10/2018 22:48

Juniper Sling ditto - smells like G&T

Essential Molecules, the unisex ones, and anything with vetiver or sandalwood from Tom Ford or Miller Harris.

Le Labo is delish and Gorse is v aftershave-like.

I always wear aftershave scents for big meetings. People love it.

Haffiana · 22/10/2018 11:41

Cartier Declaration d'Une Soir - love it on men, love it on me!

Most niche and high end fragrances are unisex because the fragrance is marketed as a fragrance rather than as a male/female accessory. So I would always advise choosing a fragrance because you love it rather than because of the way it is marketed (including price point!).

I wonder if people know the story of Bulgari's Eau Parfumee au The Vert? This is the very first and still the very best green tea scent ever created. It is gorgeous.

It was originally created by the perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena for Dior, and was all set to be launched as Fahrenheit, their new masculine. At the last moment Dior got cold feet about using such a revolutionary new scent, and instead went with the scent that we now know as Fahrenheit. Ellena took his scent to Bulgari, then just a jewellery house who were looking for a scent to perfume their stores and perhaps sell if customers were interested. It was so successful that Bulgari became what is now a major perfume house...

The point is that Bulgari's The Vert is now more or less considered as a very popular feminine scent (I say more or less because discerning blokes the world over wear it!) and yet it might have ended up as a Dior masculine. The truth is, that like many if not most scents, it is unisex.
