Is this dress ok for a wedding?

My friend doesn't think I can wear this to her wedding.
Opinions?
It will be in winter so I was thinking of adding some kind of shrug type thing over the top during the service then on the night removing it

Is this dress ok for a wedding?

No, you'll look like sexy Santa/fancy dress. Listen to your friend (whose wedding it is)

SundayGirls · 18/10/2018 21:09

It's a nice dress but it's a bit attention stealing I guess, due to it being so tight and low and busty and strapless and bright red Grin Any one or a two of these things in a dress would be ok but all of it put together... I do think it's more a party dress than a wedding dress.

I think if your friend isn't keen then I'd find something else for the wedding and wear that on the hen do instead Smile It's her big day.

rainbowtrain · 18/10/2018 21:09

@SleepingStandingUp true that 😁

simplysally4 · 18/10/2018 21:10

Looks like it's back to the drawing board ...

MarcieBluebell · 18/10/2018 21:11

I see no problem with it at all. Shame your friend is telling you what you can and can't wear.

rainbowtrain · 18/10/2018 21:13

@MarcieBluebell I don't think it is like that, she has expressed concern about the family.
Sometimes we have to be respectful of other people's traditions or likes if we are guests

Greggers2017 · 18/10/2018 21:14

Ive been to 7 weddings this year and that dress would have been fine at any one of them and they were at many different venues.
I am planning my own wedding and would never dream of telling my guests what to wear.
Very much bridezilla in my opinion.

SleepingStandingUp · 18/10/2018 21:15

OP if you want red what about something more like this

Is this dress ok for a wedding?
rainbowtrain · 18/10/2018 21:16

Ohhhh I like that one!

rainbowtrain · 18/10/2018 21:17

What is under the model's bed? 🧐 on OP first pic?

CherryPavlova · 18/10/2018 21:18

It looks like a cheap fancy dress outfit, to be honest. I’d think people would exchange glances if it was worn to a wedding.

PaintingOwls · 18/10/2018 21:21

It's tight and tacky, OP. I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't even do it when I was 19 and had the figure to pull it off Wink

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 18/10/2018 21:21

It doesnt really look suitable for a wedding, but if you want to wear it, then do. Is she going to dictate what every other guest wears to the wedding?

neveradullmoment99 · 18/10/2018 21:22

Don't like it. Its cheap and tarty looking. Not a great look for a wedding.

LetsHaveAnotherGo · 18/10/2018 21:25

@rainbowtrain I noticed that! Big black dildo? 😬

rainbowtrain · 18/10/2018 21:26

We need more pics OP @LetsHaveAnotherGo maybe a vacuum cleaner? A telescope? 🧐

Mumtobe193 · 18/10/2018 21:28

I love it, and I think you look great in it! It is maybe slightly more night out'ish but I do still think you could pull it off for a wedding, I'd maybe put a nice little blazer over it to make it look a bit more formal and to keep you warm, then you can take it off for the evening reception.

I think unless you were planning to wear something totally crazy and inappropriate the bride doesn't really have a right to tell you what you can and can not wear, unless you're in the bridal party of course.

Mumtobe193 · 18/10/2018 21:31

only just noticed the massive dildo under the bed in the pic 😂 lol

NorthernRunner · 18/10/2018 21:31

Oh that’s the billie faiers dress isn’t it?
I don’t think it’s suitable for a nice wedding, not at all classic or timeless.
What about something like this;

MyOtherProfile · 18/10/2018 21:32

Even on the model it looks odd. Gives her a really strange shape.

PixieCutRegret · 18/10/2018 21:46

Don't some consider it bad luck to wear red to a wedding? Not entirely sure why though.

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 18/10/2018 21:49

How about this? Same colour and fitted but not clubby. Fine for a hotel wedding I'd say www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_58605+06653136_-1

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 18/10/2018 21:51

Lovely colour for winter wedding www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_60514+FFN0081579_-1

LaurieFairyCake · 18/10/2018 21:55

It's only considered unlucky for the bride to wear red, not the guests

Something about death? Or that you'll end up selling your ass down the pub after your husband left you (my granny said this!)

Laiste · 18/10/2018 21:56

What would you call that style of bed? If one was wanting google it for some reason ........
