Harry & Meghan have arrived in Sydney.
The purple folders coordinating with her coat will not slow down speculation...

Is it Viscount Weymouth who's the son of the infamous Marquess of Bath?

Clionba · 19/10/2018 19:35

Yes! He didn't go to the wedding and is on very bad terms with his son. The son has taken over Longleat and has painted over Lord Bath's... ahem... murals... Hmm
They're restoring it to its classical past!

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 19:49

What happened to his (presumably long-suffering) mother?

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 19:52

In the photo @parkinpig posted I assumed the Viscount was nearing 60 so I googled and no, he's only 44!

Clionba · 19/10/2018 19:56

He looks ok, maybe it's a bad pic? Emma is gorgeous. Weymouth is not on good terms with his mother, either, one of Lord Bath's many...... ! Meghan should look at them and not feel bad about her lot!

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 19:58

I just read that his mother was banned from the wedding for making racist remarks, and is banned from seeing their children too!

Clionba · 19/10/2018 20:02

Yes, they're trying to match the Markles for dysfunction!

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 20:10

I think some of the ducal houses (for want of a better word, I know the Thynnes aren't dukes) rival the royals for dysfunction. I think it's the Duke of Marlborough who was such a wastrel that he only inherited the title and has no say in the running of Blenheim?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/10/2018 20:25

Viscount Weymouth's parents refused to come to the wedding. Which is ironic given Lord Bath's endless wifelets and his wife turning a blind eye for 40 odd years.

Jamie Blandford was a junkie, although seems to have turned himself around. Now the Duke of Marlborough. the estate is now tun by him, and a board of trustees

As was the Marquess of Bristol, not so fortunate and died of an overdose

Bristol was the father of Lady Bacteria Hervey? It was he her brother/half-brother?

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 20:35

Victoria!!

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 20:36

Or was he. My typing is all over the place tonight!

Clionba · 19/10/2018 20:37

Lady Bacteria Hervey!!! 😂 😂 😂

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2018 20:41

Whatever happened to (not that much of a) Lady Vic? She was a bit of an It girl in the early noughties, falling out of taxis and showing up at the opening of an envelope etc.

Laiste · 19/10/2018 20:54

Queen that properly made me laugh! Grin Thank you :)

VanillaScentedOozingSlimeEyes · 19/10/2018 20:57

I think Victoria Hervey lives in Los Angeles.

dementedma · 19/10/2018 21:11

meghan has a beautiful face and enviable figure but when I think of her all that comes to mind is beige/tan coats and dresses in navy, black or khaki. Really boring.
Oh yes, and the endless clinging on to Prince Harry's arm or hand.

Moononthehill28 · 19/10/2018 22:01

I have to agree demented. I think it must be incredibly hard for her as she hasn’t had that period that Kate has to really settle into the relationship. She’s older, is used to a different life and comes from another country. She doesn’t have the family support that Kate has.
She has to learn about our country and it’s strange customer. Learn how to dress appropriately, attend endless boring engagements and look like she is enjoying them. It must be really hard to do this tour when she’s pregnant.
She’s doing incredibly well really, but I do think she looks like she’s clinging on for dear life sometimes.

Moononthehill28 · 19/10/2018 22:02

Customs not customer

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/10/2018 22:05

Interesting article by Fashion psycholigist (yes apparently this is a thing!) about the differences in Kate & Meghan's styles

The "endless boring engagements" I've heard before, and it's kind of annoying. I wouldn't mind being chauffered to a zoo, or to meet people who've achieved something, or to visit a project. It's not as boring and repetitive as many jobs are. However, I'm a people person and would just love it!

Colabottle10 · 19/10/2018 22:35

I'm a long time lurker of these threads and have come out of the closet to say how much I'm enjoying it. It's massively surprised me how into their fashion I've become. I live in one pair of jeans and one pair of jodhpurs and a range of horse and toddler stained t shirts and hoodies. Being a size 18 I can't ever wear any of the clothes Kate and Meghan wear but I'm so enjoying the fashion and learning! I want to change my own wardrobe but wouldn't know where to start.

Clionba · 19/10/2018 22:45

Cola start a new thread asking for advice - honestly some of the folks on here are great and will make good suggestions. They really will help you with choices and within seconds send you useful links!

Colabottle10 · 19/10/2018 23:08

Not sure I'm brave enough yet!

I'm not sure Meghan has nailed it yet. But what about Harry's style? I love him in blue!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/10/2018 02:03

Meghan looking wow in Emilia Wickstead
