Hello lovely ladies. I need some help. I had my third baby 2 months ago and my oldest is nearly 5. Since being pregnant with my first child I've stopped investing into how I look. Whether it's clothes, makeup, hair. I want to change that but have no idea how. I think hair is my biggest problem so want to start there and would really appreciate your suggestions.

I am 33 years old and I have never had a hairstyle or have been able to style my hair for special occasions. I'd really like to be able to do something with it but I have no talent, and little time and patience for it. But am willing to learn! How would you cut my hair? The current cut started off as a shoulder length "blunt" bob (if that's the right description). I don't have time to do anything with my hair on a daily basis, I don't even blow dry it and that isn't going to change anytime soon. But I'd like to be bale to style it up and make it look great for a night out every now and again (going to a wedding next weekend so it would be a good first test).

I want to book a hairdresser appointment next week. How should I have it cut??

(Just mentioned the practicality as you said you didn’t want to style it constantly)

OrigamiZoo · 11/10/2018 18:44

Any of these would look great?

I'd say go for a pixie cut. I love mine. Takes 5 mins to dry and style with just heat spray, dryer and fingers then a bit of wax. The high maintenance part is having it cut every 4 weeks

badg3r · 11/10/2018 20:19

I had a pixie cut and loved it. BUT it needed styling every day, cost a fortune to get cut regularly, and when I decided to grow it out I had over a year of not-really-anything hairstyles and trying to pin it back with lots of grips.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 11/10/2018 20:24

Noooo don't cut it and definitely not short. You look lovely OP. You've just lost a bit of confidence.

I'd experiment with makeup first, at a good counter and also ask advice from your stylist using product and drying techniques. Go for a slight colour job if you really feel the need.

Hogtini · 11/10/2018 20:47

I meant to say look at getting some balayage colour in it too. You could even keep the longer length with that because it will add texture. Have a play with sea salt spray like pp have suggested too.

MysteriousQuinn · 11/10/2018 21:09

I would say keep the length and get some layers cut in. And definitely try the salt spray for day to day and the wand for when you have time to spend on styling it. And get your eyebrows shaped and tinted. Makeup wise a bit of bb cream and some mascara.
By the way you are naturally absolutely beautiful!

You have amazing skin, meant to add!

LittleBirdBlues · 17/10/2018 20:35

I promised an update so here it is! Had it cut today and I love it.

Thanks for your encouragement and suggestions everyone! It gave me the courage to go through with it... So glad I went for a change. Even my husband really likes it and he really loved my long hair...

You look fab!

cindersrella · 17/10/2018 21:25

Your hair looks lovely 😀

Bluntness100 · 17/10/2018 21:27

Your hair is lovely I wouldn't go short at all, it can be very ageing,

I would keep it long, maybe have it shaped a bit into your face, so it graduates at the front, possibly have some caramel highlights added.

Dontfeellikeamillenial · 17/10/2018 21:27

Looks great!

Bluntness100 · 17/10/2018 21:28

Oops, sorry cross posted and I stand corrected you look fantastic, it also makes you look much younger and trendier.

LittleBirdBlues · 17/10/2018 23:13

Thanks all! I haven't had a proper haircut in such a long time, I'd forgotten how they can lift your confidence. 😊

You look great !

DontCallMeCharlotte · 18/10/2018 12:32

Excellent cut OP (and your picture of Kiera Knightley is the one I take to the hairdressers and was the one I had in mind when I originally commented!).

FellSwoop · 18/10/2018 14:47

OP you are gorgeous and your new cut is lovely.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 18/10/2018 17:20

REALLY great haircut. You could pull off a copper brown colour too with your colouring and it would bring out your eye colour more.

Ditch that jumper though......😁
