Hello lovely ladies. I need some help. I had my third baby 2 months ago and my oldest is nearly 5. Since being pregnant with my first child I've stopped investing into how I look. Whether it's clothes, makeup, hair. I want to change that but have no idea how. I think hair is my biggest problem so want to start there and would really appreciate your suggestions.

I am 33 years old and I have never had a hairstyle or have been able to style my hair for special occasions. I'd really like to be able to do something with it but I have no talent, and little time and patience for it. But am willing to learn! How would you cut my hair? The current cut started off as a shoulder length "blunt" bob (if that's the right description). I don't have time to do anything with my hair on a daily basis, I don't even blow dry it and that isn't going to change anytime soon. But I'd like to be bale to style it up and make it look great for a night out every now and again (going to a wedding next weekend so it would be a good first test).

I want to book a hairdresser appointment next week. How should I have it cut??

I think fringe and a messy layered bob would look beautiful .

Conseulabananahammock · 10/10/2018 18:13

Something like this. Little salt spray crunch up and away you go

With your bone structure you could really carry this off!

If you google Ginnifer Goodwin pixie cut you will get various takes on this...she's had it longer but still pixie short.
Longer, like this (not Ginnifer Goodwin) would mean styling daily but it'd really suit you. Ask the stylist to show you how to blow it in and use product to style it.

Or a bob like this:

Ot, google Karlie Kloss 2018... a wavy bob would suit you but you'd need to style it.

LittleBirdBlues · 10/10/2018 19:30

Thanks! shmooboomoo for all the suggestions! You think a fringe would suit me? Never had one before.

I definitely need a cut that requires no styling and will still look nice. Not amazing, just nice. Maybe the third picture shmoomooboo posted would work for that? I have no idea what salt spray is but will look into that. Is love to have that slightly wavy, messy look!

I've booked an wash and cut appointment now for next Wednesday. Excited!

Yes, it'd look lovely imo! You have amazing bone structure and could carry off basically any style really! Let us know what you go for and post pics!

Conseulabananahammock · 10/10/2018 19:46

You can either spritz it In towel dried hair for body or you can spray on dry hair and a crunch for a beach look. I have fine hair and it adds awesome body. Also so does dry shampoo. I use it for extra volume after blow drying .

Overyou · 10/10/2018 19:46

You would look stunning shorter and blonder but if you are not into styling it then maybe not the right style for you.

I love that pic from conseula but I would say no to a short bob.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/10/2018 21:20

OP, you asked about your brows, I would let them grow thicker, have them restyled and tinted darker.

strawberryalarmclock · 10/10/2018 21:27

Don't go shorter!! I think it is so ageing unless it's on the very young! Short choppy bobs or pixie cuts just scream mumsy to me, sorry 😬
Your hair is great and yes, you do have fab bone structure

LittleBirdBlues · 10/10/2018 23:16

tooextraimmaturecheddar I would love t see a picture of your cut, unstyled, as that is what my hair would end up being every day, I just know it. 😊 Totally understand if you'd rather not share.

I'm confused now. Short hair might be ageing and require some levelkf daily styling. But I'm bored of my current length and it always ends up tied into a (no stylish!) messy bun before it's even properly dried because I find it so impractical when I'm running around all day. Decisions decisions! Long or short? Leave as is and watch some YouTube tutorials about easy things to do with long hair; or go for a long pixie / short bob...

sugarpiehoneyeye thanks for the thoughts on brows! I don't think mine would grow any thicker as ie never thinned them...😊

MissSmiley · 10/10/2018 23:51

That's what I meant about the brows but I didn't realise you don't pluck them

civicxx · 11/10/2018 00:01

No photos or advice from me I'm afraid however you are beautiful :) i wouldn't be wearing make up either if I looked like you!

PippilottaLongstocking · 11/10/2018 00:03

I agree with everyone else, with that bone structure you need a short, simple hairstyle that draws the focus to your incredible cheekbones!

PippilottaLongstocking · 11/10/2018 00:07

If you’re brave enough I think you’d suit something like this, I have super short hair and it doesn’t require any styling

7salmonswimming · 11/10/2018 03:47

Short hair only needs styling if you have any wave or curl to your hair. If it’s naturally as it looks in your photos, I don’t think it will. But you will need to get it cut more frequently. Which is great for getting a break from the children!

LittleBirdBlues · 11/10/2018 14:55

Thank you all! You're all very kind with your comments and suggestions.

I'm not brave enough for the super short cut. Perhaps I need to work my way to it gradually!

My hair is naturally the way it looks in the picture. Very straight. With that in mind, what other hairstyles would require no styling (other than the super short pixie cut?). I would be grateful for more pictures of something I can show the hairdresser next week.

I would definitely like a change.

LittleBirdBlues · 11/10/2018 16:28

@hogtini yes! Especially like the first picture. Is that a blunt cut or layers?

OP posts:
hannnnnnnxo · 11/10/2018 17:11

Personally I think you should go a little bit shorter, like a long bob sort of look. Sort of like the pictures Hogtini posted but 1-2 inches longer. This length is great because you can still tie it back and put it in a bun, and it looks really good if you use a curling wand to add waves for special occasions.

Maybe get highlights through the ends if you want something different.

hannnnnnnxo · 11/10/2018 17:15

Very on trend too!

You can probably find nicer photos lol sorry!

LittleBirdBlues · 11/10/2018 18:20

@hannnnnnnxo that first picture is actually the picture I took in the last time I had my hair cut! It was a few months ago so has obviously grown out now.

Are you suggesting a long bob because it's more practical? I'm really after a change so would prefer a bit shorter. But I have just ordered a curling wand! Can be used on short or long bobs I suppose... 😊

OP posts:
hannnnnnnxo · 11/10/2018 18:39

No I just prefer long bobs because I like them and I think it would really suit you, but fair enough if you already had it done and want to go shorter! If you want a change, definitely consider a bit of colour work tooSmile
