Will you be wearing corduroy this season?

I’ve dipped my toe in the water by buying some high waisted cord skinny Dahlia jeans from new look. I bought the black and have worn them quite a few times. I’m tempted to get them in burgundy.

Seen a lot of cropped wide leg cord trousers in the shops but this style doesnt suit me.

wellhonestly · 07/10/2018 14:51

I don't think I ever stopped! But I only seem to wear it as dresses, haven't worn corduroy trousers for years because the knees wear out too quickly on my bike.

MissLadyM · 07/10/2018 14:53

It collects too much dust and fluff!

Growingboys · 07/10/2018 16:41

I got some trousers from Gap. Not sure the full cord suit as seen in various mags is for me.

CountFosco · 07/10/2018 17:16

High waisted wide legged navy crops here. Of course I'm so short they are not actually cropped on me but I love the waist hip ratio they give me. I also really fancy a baker hat, much more my style than a woolly hat with a pom pom.

evilharpy · 07/10/2018 19:16

I have a dark green corduroy trench coat that has been hiding in the wardrobe for years. I’m debating digging it outz

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/10/2018 19:28

Love cord. I bought wide leg crops from Cos in navy, then bought the identical green pair. I also have a navy dress from Warehouse from about four years ago which I wear every winter, and some brown cord mom jeans from last year.

PaulaPennyfeather · 07/10/2018 19:30

Me! Me! I shall be - in fact I already have been. I bought a burnt orange corduroy suit from Zara last month and am eagerly awaiting their brown version to hit the shops. Apparently it's 'coming soon'. drums fingers

I agree with Olive that cropped trousers in cord can be hard to carry off unless you're startlingly long of limb.

Snog · 07/10/2018 19:43

I have bought a cord Pinafore dress and some cord dungarees too!

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 07/10/2018 19:46

I have some burgundy cord skinny trousers I've never worn - they're lovely I've just never known how to style them.

I also have a few cord pinafore dresses, mainly for work though.

PinPon · 07/10/2018 19:50

Green cord jacket, cord trousers and gold cord pinafore dress are all ready to be worn this season. Not together- obviously!

YouWereRight · 07/10/2018 20:29

I've not stopped wearing cord. I love a corduroy shift dress over a jumper in autumn and winter.

I currently have a red needle cord pinafore, and a bottle green regular cord dress on my sewing table.

fiorentina · 07/10/2018 20:29

Navy wide leg cropped trousers and I’m loving them with trainers and hopefully boots when colder. Also navy midi skirt, haven’t worn that yet as debating shoes! Plus a cord jacket. I like it for a change, there are some great cord items around.

championquartz · 07/10/2018 20:54

Yeah. No. Not a fan. Too geography teacher for me.

So clearly, I had to choke on my thoughts and I bought these from Massimo. I’ve short legs so they are with my friendly alterations woman and I shall wear them slightly cropped, with mid calf boots, with a bit of a heel. Contrary to Olive and Penny above, short legs or not, I like ‘em!

championquartz · 07/10/2018 21:02

Of course I could be completely deluded. And look like a geography teacher of a bygone era in a very unflattering pair of cords Grin

BadderWolf · 07/10/2018 21:11

I ventured out last week in some chocolate brown corduroy jeans...very cosy they were too.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 07/10/2018 21:34

Oh yes, I love cord! Have cord skinnies, pinafore and want a cord blazer in an awesome colour too

evilharpy · 08/10/2018 06:38

TripTrap I have a brown cord blazer which is vintage, from the 70s I think. And a grey Laura Ashley one. I’d forgotten all about them.

Branleuse · 08/10/2018 06:41

Yes yes

Monty27 · 08/10/2018 06:44

Yup it picks up fluff
Pain to keep a fresh look.
I guess a tumble dryer would sort it.

Snog · 08/10/2018 06:58

Lol at Geography teacher look!

CrabbityRabbit · 08/10/2018 07:13

I have a pair of bottle green straight leg cords that I am wearing right now with a purple jumper and purple velvet trainers. They are originally M&S but I picked them up in a charity shop so dunno how old they are.

Monty27 · 08/10/2018 07:16

You need leather patches on the elbows of a jacket to get the geography teacher look Grin

oohyoudevilyou · 08/10/2018 08:11

A couple of weeks ago I bought a forest green cord skirt which I've worn 2/3 times already and love - very soft and warm. Also tried some cord trousers but have hefty thighs and don't like the "swooshing" noise when I walk in them! Grin

PinkSquash · 08/10/2018 08:18

I'm really tempted by a cord dress if I can find one that at least sits mid thigh, being tall I find a lot of them flash my bum as I move
