Wide calf knee high boots

User46942 · 07/10/2018 09:30

I am short and have fat legs. I would love to get some knee high boots. I tried some wide fit ones on in next and they wouldn’t fasten.
Can anyone with wider than average calves recommend any?

Duo boots do varying calf sizes

Methe · 07/10/2018 09:43

Jilsen are fab. They’re a Dutch brand but ship over here and have an English translation website.

Duo are so expensive I’ve never tried them but they’re supposed to be good.

SilverHairedCat · 07/10/2018 09:47

Evans are good. I have had my last few pairs of leather knee highs from them, as I can't afford Duo.

Beaverhausen · 07/10/2018 09:49

Simply Be have wide or extra wide fits for ladies with wide feet or bigger calves.

User46942 · 07/10/2018 13:47

Thanks . Do you know of any do free delivery and returns? I’ve just had to send 3 pairs to charity that i got online. I intended to diet into them but it hasn’t happened!

Marisota- think they're JD Williams - all sorts of calf widths and wide feet too

Buggerbrexit · 07/10/2018 13:51

Sainsbury’s although they’re not getting great reviews as being wide legged.

Olive122 · 07/10/2018 14:55

Simply Be/Marisota/J D Williams/ Fashion world (all the same company) do wide calf boots and a lot have a choice of different calf width fittings. There is a size guide online to help you find which fit you would need.

Housewife2010 · 07/10/2018 15:35

Duo Boots are fab. There's a 20%off code in this month's Prima.

Potplant2 · 07/10/2018 18:35

There’s also 15% off duo boots on their website if you sign up to their newsletter.

They don’t look THAT expensive to me, start at around £150 for what look like lovely knee high boots, and you can take the discount off that. I might have to save up....

MollysMummy2010 · 07/10/2018 18:39

M&S had some last year

SilverHairedCat · 07/10/2018 18:53

Starting at £150 is megabucks. My leather knee highs from Evans are currently 5 years old and cost me £70.

cricketmum84 · 07/10/2018 19:37

Another vote for simply be. I think there's about 6 different calf sizes.
I can't get my fat calves into Evans boots but just bought a gorgeous pair for £50 on simply be that fit perfect.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 07/10/2018 20:30

I have massive calves and simply be has been my saviour. I've even got thought high boots this year. And I've never gotten into boots by any other high street brand yet simply bes largest size (extra curvy plus) is far too big for me so I can get away with super curvy.

They usually have free delivery offers for new customers and they have free returns.

Potplant2 · 08/10/2018 08:31

My problem is I have standard size, even rather narrow, feet, and slightly wider than average calves (currently about 15.5 inches where standard boots are sized to fit 14-15 inches). All the wide calf boots at Simply Be are sized for wide feet, so I’d feel like I was wearing wellingtons.

Back to the drawing board... I’ve had some success in the past with the wider or stretchier end of standard sizing, still wearing a pair of Gabor boots in leather, standard size that are quite forgiving.

Todamhottoday · 08/10/2018 08:36

Have a look at hotter, they had boots last year and the year before that have elastic inserts to the boots making them stretchy, but the rest are leather.

Not sure if all styles are out yet, oh and I have bought both of mine in the sale (both in winter)

MarthasGinYard · 08/10/2018 08:37

Gabor and M&S do Good wide leather cankle Boots

EmmaGrundyForPM · 08/10/2018 08:41

Duo are brilliant and worth every penny. I've had pairs of Duo boots that have lasted 10 years. You can buy the exact size for your calf width so they fit beautifully

hammeringinmyhead · 08/10/2018 10:37

A pair of leather boots from Evans may have been £70 5 years ago but they don't have any leather ones now and their PU ones are £68.

I buy mine from Duo also. I mainly buy their ankle boots but I do like that the foot isn't wide just because the calf is.

User46942 · 09/10/2018 21:44

Yes I agree about the feet. I have small thin feet to go with my fat short legs. They are rather carrot like. Not attractive!

I get mine from primark and I'm a size 22

travailtotravel · 09/10/2018 22:54

I'm going to shell out for some duo boots I think.

GrimDamnFanjo · 09/10/2018 23:59

I got some nice black leather ones from Simply Be I'm a 6 EEE Curvy calf apparently. They were about £55.

Zoflorabore · 10/10/2018 03:06

I saw an advert on here recently for justfab so had a look as I've got fat calves and am a big size 8 and found a lovely pair on there and were so cheap.
They're called Hally buckle boot and are due to arrive some time today! Will report back once tried on.

Forgot to mention they are the wide fit and have a stretch panel at the back too.
