Wide calf knee high boots

User46942 · 07/10/2018 09:30

I am short and have fat legs. I would love to get some knee high boots. I tried some wide fit ones on in next and they wouldn’t fasten.
Can anyone with wider than average calves recommend any?

I'm the same as a couple of posters here, with particularly narrow feet and ankles but big legs.

Has anyone found wide leg boots with standard width feet?

I didn't realise duo were back! Last I knew they have transformed into a stupidly expensive "high end" ted and Muffy at twice the price and selling all their duo stock in tk max ....... tho looking at the website they do still seem to be at the expensive prices but rebranded duo. Hmm Does anyone know if they have good sales like the old duo used to?

@Zoflorabore did you make sure not to sign up to the JustFab scam?

Long-term Duo fan here! I really like the fact there's a choice in shoe width as well as many many choices in calf width (going up every 2 centimetres) and the quality of the boots is really high so they last for ages. They also go really narrow so skinny calved people can also have boots that fit. They do have good sales still, but the only problem is that because they are so specific in sizes they don't always have the exact size permutation that you want by the time they get to the sales. I've also discovered another issue which again is a problem because their sizing is so precise. I've lost a chunk of weight and some of it came from my calves. Because the width of the boots comes from the way they are cut more than elastic panels within the boots, my old boots are now too loose! So, if you are considering some serious weight-loss, I'd hold off on the boot purchasing until you've finished...

Simply be do a standard foot width on their larger calf boots too :)

NorthernSpirit · 10/10/2018 08:10

God this drives me nuts (boot shopping). I’m a fit U.K. size 10 and struggle to do most boots up.

Clark’s have wider fitting boots.

Duo Boots (in Bath) do boots by the calf measurement. Try their website.

Duo boots. Expensive, but I've had mine for about 15 years.
I've had them re-heeled, and Duo repaired a broken zip FOC a few years ago, but they are still going strong.

My DM bought me some slouch ones from Sainsbury's last Christmas.

Zoflorabore · 10/10/2018 10:27

I have cancelled my "membership" after realising what it is. How cheeky is that?!

If you don't buy anything between 1-5th of the month then they take £35 from your card on the 6th as "credit"
Bet they are relying on lots of people to forget.

Pull ons.

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 10:51

What's this justfab scam?

hammeringinmyhead · 10/10/2018 11:39

Duo won't have a proper sale til after Christmas in my experience but they might do something around Black Friday. As someone else said though, doesn't mean they will have the style you want in the foot and calf size you want by then.

SussexMedley · 10/10/2018 12:20

It seems that JustFab is good at signing people up to spend £X a month (which they don't realise they've done until they're charged), but they don't get any products for this, just some discounts to encourage them to spend still more. Then, surprise surprise, it's impossible to unsubscribe.

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 12:54

Thank fuck I've never bought anything from justfab. Has anyone emailed Watchdog?

LeticiaDejeuner · 10/10/2018 13:03

I have these from Fly London:

www.amazon.com/FLY-London-Womens-Boots-Diesel/dp/B01JTT6UKG?psc=1&linkCode=xm2&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&creativeASIN=B01JTT6UKG&tag=mumsnetforum-21&creative=165953&camp=2025

I have had them for 2 or 3 years and worn them almost constantly through spring & autumn & milder winter days... absolutely love them... my calves are not the slimmest either (and have varied in size hugely over the last few years from pregnancies) but I find the adjustable buckles (functional, not just for decoration!!) at the top help me to get the perfect fit regardless of extra leg meat) and still look elegant.

I am appalled by Just Fab. It's not illegal but is very sneaky. Although now I say illegal, I'm wondering how they do this via distance selling regs.
