Wedding Guest Outfit - dress as a PRISONER?!

Late October, all day wedding and reception. Am 5ft4” size 10.

Seriously what on earth can I wear?

Write “nonce” on the back of a tee shirt in marker pen and wear that.

Thanks for all the suggestions! It’s family but the other end of the country so not even sure what other guests are wearing! Would like to dress up so am looking at some of the ideas posted here....

Like the idea of black and white stripes but lots seems to be blue & white.

I do already have denim dungarees to the cell block h idea might not be too difficult!

I have visions of turning up in a grey tracksuit and every one else in high street jumpsuits/ more wedding appropriate.

No Goood no criminal connections but it is in a historic gaol.

Ah now we know the location, it makes sense and might be fun, I don't really like themed weddings normally but I suppose it's getting more common now. I think definitely wear something like a jumpsuit and don't go too crazy.

If it's a really old prison building converted to a hotel people probably died there. I think it's disgusting to make it a jovial wedding theme.

Maybe wear what you'd usually wear for a wedding and find some hand cuff jewelry.

I like the jumpsuit up the top with the open back - bravissimo have some orange bras which would not be too 'obvious' under it.

Agree with @MoltonSilver. Pretty tasteless. People end up in prison for all sorts of reasons and not usually because things have gone really well in their life.

Agree it’s in poor taste.
I personally would have a back up normal outfit to wear, just in case no one bothers, and you’re the only one in an orange jumpsuit / hand cuff accessories.
I presume the bride will be wearing a b/w striped wedding dress.

I agree it’s tasteless and ridiculous but it’s not a recently used prison - we are talking centuries old historic site, and i’m Not going to moan and groan about their choice.

Just need to settle on something glam enough for it to feel like a celebration

These themes might be something people regret in years to come. Imagine looking back on your photos and you are getting married in a costume.

it works, because if everyone else is dressed up you will fit in, if not then you will still fit in. bring a pair of handcuffs in your bag and also a necklace, so you can adjust as appropriate

As someone who works in a prison, I can suggest the following:

1. Go as a Remand Prisoner and you can wear what you like
2. Go as Sentenced Prisoner and order anything you fancy from the Sports Direct catalogue
3. Go as an Escape Risk and wear a jumpsuit
