Is it a comment on the institution of marriage?

How about a nice ball and chain?

concretesieve · 17/09/2018 22:11

One of the suffrage prisoners?

someonekillbabyshark · 17/09/2018 22:31

Grey tracksuit, that's what they actually wear in prison

someonekillbabyshark · 17/09/2018 22:33

If you really want to get into character though you will need some SPICE a really mini phone and a toothbrush razor knife thing BearBearBear ( I watch to much TV)

Prison makes me think jailhouse rock so plenty of scope for black and white horizontal stripes/black with white contrast stitching

Just a black and white striped dress? I think of black and white stripey clothes before orange jumpsuits.

Very weird though. Is it a Halloween wedding? Do you know other people going? Can you ask what they are wearing?

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 17/09/2018 23:54

Definitely take inspiration from this lot!

Sorry just realised size 10 in that dress is out of stock sorry!

Pfaffingly · 18/09/2018 06:11

I’d go as someone under house arrest and wear what I wanted. I’m sure if you google hard enough you’ll find a glam celeb who did house arrest instead of prison.

Alternatively you could glam up and do prison Chicago (the musical) style...that was set in a prison.

Blondielongie · 18/09/2018 06:28

Wear a prisoner inspired outfit?
Black and white striped ballet style top (boden?) and a black skater skirt.
Chunky chain jewellery. maybe like this

Carry one of those handbags that looks like a ball and chain. I can't find a UK link. Black heels.

I'd be annoying as a guest and try to go in an outfit that could pass as normal guest. Juat incase I was the only one dressed up GrinHalo

thedevilinablackdress · 18/09/2018 06:59

I'm with whoever said grey tracksuit.

I kind of get themed weddings (star wars, Harry potter) if it's some fandom you're both really into AND you don't insist your guests dress up.

But this?? Baffled.

Mumsnut · 18/09/2018 07:09

Wear what you like, with an ankle 'tag'?

CaptainCallisto · 18/09/2018 07:20

Could you wear green and purple and go as an incarcerated suffragette?

CaptainCallisto · 18/09/2018 07:24

Maybe even a nice skirt/trousers and a blouse with a green and purple sash over the top? That would still feel weddingy but would have a point...

RainbowsArePretty · 18/09/2018 08:00

Could you wear the orange jumpsuit with a think camisole/vest top underneath?

It seems an unfair theme for guests as everyone is likely to need to need to buy something & then never use it again

Snog · 18/09/2018 08:49

Get a diy biro tattoo in an obvious place?

TerfsUp · 18/09/2018 08:50

Fluffy pink handcuffs.

wildewillow · 18/09/2018 09:03

I got married in late October. People wore what they would wear to a summer/spring wedding just with a nice coat/jacket. It was 20 degrees.

inquiquotiokixul · 18/09/2018 09:04

Depending on how much I liked the person getting married I would either wear this exact outfit (from 1960s TV series The Prisoner) or I wouldn't go. No way would I ever wear a jump suit to a social event. Just no.

NL has a range of petite jumpsuits which might fit the bill and also your height as you dont want to be swamped. Go for something that you feel comfortable in, bring a neutral handbag but maybe put a piece of brown paper stuck to it, "Contraband".

smurfy2015 · 18/09/2018 09:18

If you get a jumpsuit of whatever colour, Assign yourself a category and a prison as that's obviously what they wear in that cat prison -

You have the confidence to pull this off, believe in yourself.

Get something you would be comfortable wearing on that occasion and other occasions as I don't believe in wearing things once only
