Pyjamas after work?

user1483390742 · 17/09/2018 20:35

Am i the only person in the world who does not change into pyjamas or loungewear when they get in from work?
I might change my clothes but would never consider sitting around in pjs all evening with my DH!
What am i missing??

OP posts:
itstheyearzero · 17/09/2018 20:36

What you are missing is comfort!

Penguinsnpandas · 17/09/2018 20:36

I read this as pyjamas at work Grin

DaisyChain22 · 17/09/2018 20:38

I wouldn’t dream of coming home from work and getting changed into anything that wasn’t loungewear, pyjamas or dressing gown!!

Bunnybigears · 17/09/2018 20:41

As soon as I know im not going out again or having visitors its work clothes off PJs or jogging bottoms and t shirt on. Its comfortable and practical for rolling around on the floor with the kids/dog.

Pusheenicorn · 17/09/2018 20:41

I am not a style and beauty regular by any means but the first thing I do when I get in from work is shower and pjs on Grin

I cannot stand sitting around in clothes.

I just view pjs as inside clothes Grin

I also don't get dressed of a weekend if I'm not going anywhere am a slattern

user1486076969 · 17/09/2018 20:43

PJs are for bed, I have other casual clothes I wear after work.

Harleyisme · 17/09/2018 20:43

I don't work but as soon as kids sorted dinner done and it's wind down time I love to change into pjs and dressing gown so much more comfortable.

TheSpottedZebra · 17/09/2018 20:45

But you at least take your bra off, yes?

Fatted · 17/09/2018 20:45

If I'm not going back out I change into Pj's. If I am going back out, I'll change into casual clothes (preferably leggings and a t-shirt that I might just sleep in that night anyway!)

HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife · 17/09/2018 20:46

I couldn’t imagine that! I rip my clothes off first thing and get in to something comfy.

cheesefield · 17/09/2018 20:48

It's the first thing I do when I get in the door. Bra and socks off, "comfies" on.

SlimDogMillionaire · 17/09/2018 20:51

What do you change into?

KatieMarieJ · 17/09/2018 20:54

I don't either! But then even my nightwear is more fitted than most. I can't stand to wear baggy loose clothing. Even if I am working from home it is in smart office wear. I know some will say it's because I have a rod up my backside but it's me so tough!

user1486076969 · 17/09/2018 20:54

I have other casual clothes I wear after work.

cheesefield · 17/09/2018 21:17

I change into joggers and a hoodie if it's cold. DPs tshirt and boxers if it's warm! I can't bear being uncomfortable at home. I spend 8 hours a day in a corporate office at a bastard of an uncomfortable chair dressed in business wear and by the time I get home I'm grumpy and sweaty/freezing depending on what chaos the office air con has been up to, and all I want is to strip off my bra and take my make up off.

Judydreamsofhorses · 17/09/2018 21:25

I change into “loungewear” which is just about acceptable if someone comes to the door, but I definitely wouldn’t go out in. So right now I am in joggers, a sweatshirt, Ugg boots, and my glasses. Makeup comes off when my contact lenses come out. To go to actual bed I either put on a nightshirt or just knickers, depending on how warm it is. My DP changes into jeans/t-shirt/hoodie, then sleeps naked - I don’t see it as any different.

OnceUponATimeInAmerica · 17/09/2018 21:35

I have never changed when I get in from work, except when I worked on farms. Even then, I put proper clothes on after showering.

I also don’t remove my bra. Why would I? I have properly fitted ones and find it more uncomfortable to be without one.

thedevilinablackdress · 17/09/2018 21:36

Each to their own but interested in why OP/PPs don't like comfy/baggy/loose clothes?

Ellapaella · 17/09/2018 21:36

Well you don't miss what you don't know!
I like getting changed once I'm in for the night. Usually just tracksuit bottoms or comfy harem pants and a

Ellapaella · 17/09/2018 21:37

Oops! A comfy top.

Notcontent · 17/09/2018 22:10

I always get changed when I get home from work (although might not if I am going out again) and I have to confess that recently i do occasionally put on my pjs....

MysweetAudrina · 17/09/2018 22:13

Home from work 6.30pm. Prep dinner? Clean around, prepare stuff for morning then change into jammies after dinner at about 8pm while dh makes me a cup of tea.

Tights, boots, pencil skirt and shirt are not the most comfortable items to be longing about in.

At weekends i wear mostly yoga pants and sports vest.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/09/2018 22:20

If I don't have an exercise class after work then I change out of work trousers and top into jeans and a warmer top as my house is cooler than my warm (hot) classroom. The bra definitely stays ON as I'm less comfortable without it unless I'm in bed. If I'm in dress and leggings then it depends on the comfiness of the dress as to whether I change or not. Then I stay like that until I go upstairs for bed.

If I have an exercise class then I get changed into those clothes when I get in, go to the class later then shower and get into pjs when I get back.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 17/09/2018 22:47

I wear a horrible thick, sweaty polyester tunic and trousers for the majority of the day.... you can bet your arse I'm changing into comfy pj type clothes when I get home. I don't actually wear them in bed though, too restrictive.

user1457017537 · 17/09/2018 22:55

I like long stretchy jersey dresses for lounging about the house in, but these are getting difficult to find. Housework frocks I call them! I like comfort but don’t really like PJs and bathrobes seem to hot nowadays as they are that horrible velour polyester.
