Chelsea boots

I need new flat boots, my last lovely ones have finally died, )I bought them when DD was born, she's now in yr 5!!)

I'm thinking about getting Chelsea boots, any recommendations, I'm looking for brown, flat, good soles that will last. I'm happy to spend up to £150. Or is there another style of flat book that I should be looking at as it's more up to date. If it helps, I'm mid 40s, short and round.

I bought some DM fur lined Chelsea boots last winter as I live in countryside and didn’t want to always wear wellies but have something with a good tread.

wildewillow · 15/09/2018 17:35

Joules Chelsea boots are my go to forever!

Bluntness100 · 15/09/2018 17:39

Try Hudson London. There are some that meet your needs there. There boots are fantastic.

I bought the Joules Westbourne ones.
The ebay outlet has excellent reductions.

HerRoyalNotness · 16/09/2018 03:05

Love those John Lewis ones!

SpeckledyHen · 16/09/2018 06:11

I tried the JL ones but they were too narrow for my wide feet .

CognitiveDissonance · 16/09/2018 07:29

I have these

I wore them for the first time on Friday and they were extremely comfortable. At work I spend most of my time on my feet, had no problems with them at all.

TheFifthKey · 16/09/2018 07:30

I got some amazing leather ones from Sainsbury’s for £40. Look way more expensive than that.

BangingOn · 16/09/2018 07:36

I second Hudson boots, I’ve always found them great quality.

I also have these Barbour boots, I bought them in black last winter and have just bought the brown. They come in a lighter brown shade also.

TapStepBallChange · 17/09/2018 10:01

I love the look of the Hudson ones, I went into town yesterday as was pretty unsuccessful so time for some online shopping. I'm also off to Sainsburys later, so will look there.

Fly London Salv - gorgeous, comfortable and come in an array of colours.

AsleepAllDay · 17/09/2018 11:35

Seconding Hudson. I used to love ASOS Chelsea boots but these are sturdier and prettier

Bluntness100 · 17/09/2018 13:22

For info, Hudson come up small. So size up if you are trying them.

Barbayagar · 17/09/2018 14:03

@BangingOn, just ordered the Barbour boots in wine, thanks, hope I like them!

BangingOn · 17/09/2018 14:35

Me too! I’ve found them really comfortable and the leather is so soft.

HashTagLil · 17/09/2018 15:00

Dr Martens Flora boots. I love mine!

BangingOn · 17/09/2018 15:06

@HashTagLil how long did it take you to wear yours in? I have patent oxblood DM Chelsea boots but they are so stiff and hurt my heels so badly I’ve only worn them a few times.

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 17/09/2018 15:14

I have those Dune Chelsea boots too and I love them. They have worn really well for the last year and I’m sure I’ll wear therm plenty again this year.

I am on the look out for a calf-length pair of flat boots to replace a pair of boots I’ve had for over 10 years! They need to be flat because I want them for running up and down for the school or doing messages in town, but I want them to be smart-ish rather than really casual.

I bought these ones from Dune and they are almost perfect - I just want them about an inch taller on the leg. They might work for you though.

HashTagLil · 17/09/2018 15:32

@BangingOn only a few weeks, but I did wear thick Dr Martens socks to begin with as I have ridiculously delicate feet that would rub wearing a pair of handmade silk slippers Grin

BangingOn · 17/09/2018 17:33

That sounds like my feet! I think I need to invest in some of those socks, stock up on blisters plasters and be brave.
