Hi everyone! As some of you may know, every week we trawl the boards to pick out the products MNers are 'swearing by'.

You may already receive our weekly Swears By newsletter, but you can also find a round-up of all of the products here on our Swears By page.

This week, there was a lot of love for the River Island Amelie Jeans (from £40) on this thread, with @Liefster exclaiming "I wouldn't buy anything else now!”

Click here to take a look at the "magical" jeggings Mumsnetters were loving on 9th September.

We're going to try something a little different this month: tell us if we've missed something you've been loving and recommending this week for the chance to win £100 of Amazon vouchers. We'll pick a winner at random and announce the lucky winner (and their must-have product) in October's first Swears By newsletter.

And, if you want to be first to know about the next cult product, you can sign up to the newsletter here.

Mumsnet Swears By is free and independent from advertising but if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale. You can find out more here.

For me, it's Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. Unfortunately I seem to have killed the thread that I recommended it on!

After several weeks in the sun, my hair was looking less like hair and more like a hay stack. I was a frazzled mess. Just one application of the Elasticizer made it smooth and glossy again, and I've been applying it a couple of times a week since. Highly recommended.

Ooh well I recommend this all the time on here, but it's not a product so much - it's a book! Sarah ockwell Smith gentle sleep book. It is the very best book I've ever read, explained all about what's normal for infant sleep and some gentle ideas on how to improve it, but most of all it helped me to accept things as they are. She's a brilliant author and I highly recommend all her books.

DontFundHate · 07/09/2018 12:59

Oops I've just realised this is in style and beauty! Oh well it's still my top buy!

DontFundHate · 07/09/2018 13:01

Is that photograph supposed to be nice? make us think those jeans are desirable??

teta · 07/09/2018 15:19

Yes Lexer I was a bit puzzled by that picture too. Sausage legs is a pretty apt description.
John Lewis & brother deep v slouchy cashmere jumper. I’ve just ordered the bright blue and it’s a really good price. In fact all the cashmere prices look good compared to other brands and many have sold out in one day.

I love the Opus Gosta “sweatshirt.” It’s not really a sweatshirt at all but more like a thin sweater that doesn’t cling, is not cropped, isn’t too short, is a lovely shade of blue in person, and feels SO soft to the touch.

Yes I can happily recommend Boots Beauty From Within Liquid Collagen drink.

I've been suffering with an acne breakout and my lower cheeks were really really sore and red.

I'm on day 14 now and it's improved so much, I'm over the moon as I've tried so many products. It's also helped with the dry skin on my hands.

The collagen drink is much more expensive than id usually be able to afford but I'm desperate as I start a new job soon and really want my skin to calm down before then. I bought three boxes using the 3 for 2 offer.

I meant to add a link, sorry:

So if this is affiliate advertising where you receive money by posting links does that mean you will ONLY post links where you have this arrangement rather than being impartial? What’s the benefit to users of the site?

Butterfly1975 · 07/09/2018 22:56

My absolute bargain find of the month is these boots direct.asda.com/george/women/shoes/black-leather-chelsea-boots/GEM656604,default,pd.html

Fantastic quality for the money and perfect for work Smile

FlubQueen · 07/09/2018 23:01

My Fjallraven Kanken backpack. I got it 18 months ago, use it every day and it's still going strong. And the foam insert has been incredibly useful, both for sitting on and has also been used instead of a pillow if I need to breastfeed while in a park or on the beach.

Skinfulnappies46 · 08/09/2018 14:11

Such catty comments about a pair of jeans being modelled by a n average sized woman.
Delighted for you perfect ladies that have perfect pins and feel they can stand in judgement!

Mumsnet...

riske · 08/09/2018 14:44

*Sausage legs is a pretty apt description.
*
Shame on you. What an utterly cuntish thing to think, let alone actually type and post.

Would you say that to a woman to her face?

teta · 08/09/2018 15:22

Where’s the woman?
It’s just a random pair of legs with some very tight unflattering jeans on. Definitely not showcasing this jeans brand in its best light.

Think you are missing the point.

These legs belong to a real woman. I am quite shocked at the negative remarks by women about the size of a pair of legs and that they do not flatter a pair of jeans enough to advertise them .

I really hope none of you have children that you project your views of acceptability onto.

Shame on you.

teta · 08/09/2018 16:24

I have several kids and yes I do make sure they eat a healthy diet,so
they don’t become overweight. But this is entirely incidental to this thread. This is a pair of fat legs in unflattering jeans. I’m not white-washing or fat shaming anyone. Its purely the truth. I’m not particularly skinny myself and am well aware I need to lose weight. Which is very hard in today’s world.
Stop trying to politicise unhealthy body shapes.

riske · 08/09/2018 16:52

You need to take a long, hard look at yourself.

Skinfulnappies46 · 08/09/2018 18:09

Let the haters hate ..

lexer · 08/09/2018 23:07

Come on...to be honest it looks like River Island are trying to be so "politically correct" that they've pictured some very unattractive legs in some very unattractive jeans.

Teta has said what we've all been thinking but are too "politically correct" that we're afraid to say it.

zippyswife · 08/09/2018 23:17

They are average legs. Normal legs. Aren’t they?
You’ll always get someone making bitchy remarks but really these are just normal legs.

zippyswife · 08/09/2018 23:19

@remus thanks for the tip. Just back from holiday and my hair (which is coarse and frizzy at the best of times) is desperate! I’m going to give it a go.

lexer · 08/09/2018 23:23

@zippyswife. Not my normal. May be yours?

lexer · 08/09/2018 23:24

Plus bloody ugly jeans.
