Are these shoes nice? I'm undecided!

Saw these in office today. I'm really unsure about them - , on the one hand I love them,on the other, I think they're too clompy. Help me decide!

Also, does anyone know where might do these shoes but in a navy colour? I'm not sure if the black makes them look too school shoe!

Is this any better?
If not, they are called Office Keyhole Flats...they are the style in Groucho Leather. Sorry about the link not working!

I think you have to highlight it and copy and paste it, the comma in the middle of the link is causing the issue. Sorry !

I love them! I love a chunky shoe.

PavlovaFaith · 31/08/2018 18:08

No not for me but I'm a dainty type!

SmilingButClueless · 31/08/2018 18:08

These ones?

www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/4,85,500/1564106511

They look a bit like 1990s orthopaedic school shoes to me. Look comfortable though and in a different leather might not look quite as ‘functional’

PavlovaFaith · 31/08/2018 18:09

Argh sorry that sounded weird! I myself am not dainty but I prefer dainty style things.

WatercolourFlower · 31/08/2018 18:11

Yes, another of my worries, alongside the fact they look like school shoes, is the fact they are so clompy and chunky. I normally go for daintier shoes like you Pavlova

I suppose it all depends on the rest of the outfit you choose to wear with them...I can see these with an 'alternative ' style iyswim. Wearing with leggings and a t shirt then probably not.

WatercolourFlower · 31/08/2018 18:16

I'm not alternative at all! I was thinking of wearing them with pinafore and tights in autumn and winter...perhaps with a striped t shirt and jeans in the warmer months

Horrible.

Atalune · 31/08/2018 18:18

I don’t like them at all, but the way you described them with clothing would look good.

The shoes remind me of my old school shoes when I was a kid!

gonnabreakmyrustycage · 31/08/2018 18:20

I love them

GreenTulips · 31/08/2018 18:20

Pinafore and tights sounds more like a child's outfit

Try Doc Martins for the same effect

Changedforpost · 31/08/2018 18:22

Absolutely. I'd probably wear with tights skirt and an oversize jumper. Or tights and a pinafore dress and a rollneck jumper

WatercolourFlower · 31/08/2018 18:23

I'm 24, can I not get away with a pinafore and cute shoes anymore? ☹️ My outfits haven't grown up with me 😬

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 31/08/2018 18:24

I'm sorry but I think those are some of the most Horrendous shoes I've ever seen. Each to their own though, and if you love them then that's all that matters.

GorgonLondon · 31/08/2018 18:25

I guess if you still see yourself as a little girl rather than a young woman...?

WatercolourFlower · 31/08/2018 18:28

No, I don't see myself as a girl...I need to become more sophisticated though. Some of the clothes I've had I was wearing when I was a teenager. Think I need an style overhaul 😅

OP posts:
EnidButton · 31/08/2018 18:45

I really don't like them sorry. Strong 90's school shoe vibes.

But the 90's are in and I can see the look you were going for. Pinafore, rollneck and tights with stompy shoes or boots? I've seen that on people and it's looked good. Not my thing but there's no reason why it can't look good on some people.

Still don't like the shoes though.

ForeverJung · 31/08/2018 18:47

They'd be lovely on somebody young with denim hair and ripped jeans.

But on me for example they'd just make a stylish outfit look frumpy.

Fairylea · 31/08/2018 18:49

They’re very on trend, tons of those sorts of chunkier styles on ASOS and new look etc. They’re a copy of the Dr Martens styles. And dungaree dresses / pinafores are very fashionable! Especially cord style ones with striped rust / mustard coloured knitwear.

Go for it op. At 24 you’ll look amazing in them.

At 40 I might look a bit overgrown toddler.....Grin

Twinkie1 · 31/08/2018 18:50

They are the same as my 4 year olds kickers she has for school.

Immigrantsong · 31/08/2018 18:50

Love them BUT may I recommend you getting them from Deichmann for a fraction of the price? They do some identical ones. Clarks do them too.
