Slim fit trainers that work with officewear?

I need commuting trainers (leather, not canvas) that don't look ridiculous with dresses and opaque tights....

All black, not chunky (Vans, Stan S, SuperGa are all too wide on my size 3 feet). Converse is usually my go to but the all black leather style looks a bit...odd...for some reason...

Have looked at Skechers online but they still have chunky soles....my legs are just too short and I end up with clown feet.

Has anyone found anything? Have searched online (inc past MN threads...) but can't find anything that doesn't look like a chunky trainer...

Hmm...the NB ones still look too trainer-ish to me... (NB are my fave trainer for running though).

Don't know if these are your type of thing.

Fingers crossed you get comfy commuting shoes/trainers.

getupdressandshowup · 29/08/2018 12:24

Ooh, I like the look of those 373s

dameofdilemma · 29/08/2018 12:40

hmm...problem I find is these kind of shoes look fine with jeans or trousers but oddly chunky with tights and short legs.... I think its the thick sole...

How about these -

Or this

I find this brand a bit too slim fitting on my feet even though I don't consider myself to have wife feet. Try any of Geox range. Also try Tkmaxx for Italian brands I had once read it is a good for place to hunt for footwear for slimmer foot

dameofdilemma · 29/08/2018 14:02

Also need leather really as suede gets wrecked in the rain (even with protector) and canvas/fabric means wet feet!

Lok - just seen moda trainers in RL, they're really nice, look great with jeans. Doesn't solve my commute problem but might get them anyway :)

Have you tried the trainers Stan Smith's and all the others you have ruled out from the kids junior section? I know someone who has trouble finding the right fit and they end up looking in the kids section. They might have have all plain black leather trainers you are looking for

nothingwittyhere · 29/08/2018 20:20

Ecco have loads of non-chunky black trainers. How about these slightly pointy skater shoes?

If you could techwash the top to make them waterproof then sketchers go walk slip on shoes are super comfy.

PrimalLass · 29/08/2018 22:23

I like Adidas court vantage and Nike Internationalist.

Or there are fashion trainers everywhere.

Catinthecorner · 30/08/2018 08:18

Pima soleil?

dameofdilemma · 30/08/2018 09:20

Not a fan of slip on ones am afraid....and the Geox ones are a bit shiny for me.

Am finding most trainers too trainer-ish to where with work dresses...maybe I need something a bit more plimsoll-ish. Which is probably why I've ended up with Converse most of the time.

Am being incredibly fussy sorry!

Have you thought about Oxfords or brogues?

championquartz · 30/08/2018 09:45

These Ugg Milo trainers?? Nice leather and leather lined so they're v comfy. And they are a really neat fit on. Compared to other trainers, they're not clumpy at all.

dameofdilemma · 30/08/2018 11:42

champion - really like those Ugg Milos, and they do them in size 3 - more than I wanted to spend on a commuting trainer but I think they might fit the bill. Thank you!

Evil - have been thinking of a loafer but worried they will rip my heels to shreds and be too hard soled....

JuneMyNameIsJune · 30/08/2018 12:28

Skechers Go Walk 3? I wear those to commute and they are really comfortable. I have the all black version and have been known to keep them on rather than change to my 'professional' shoes Grin. They also do a ballet pump style. Not stylish but they're so comfortable I don't care and the sort of blend into opaque tights and trousers.

championquartz · 30/08/2018 14:38

Smile Hope you like them.

Onitsuko Tiger? They are a Japanese brand so may work. I have the Barcelonas they are really nice.

carbuckety · 30/08/2018 15:03

champion are the ugg trainers true to size? So if I usually wear a s4 is that right? I find trainers vary so much
