How old do you think I am?

Went back to really dark hair after years of lighter or crazy colours. A friend of mine always said how ageing black is,but as I was quite young I didn't care or mind. I'm less sure of myself now... So have it Mumsnet jury.

Try it again with a strong red lipstick, Paris style!

Echo2 · 13/08/2018 20:10

Late 20’s.

Moononthehill28 · 13/08/2018 20:10

42

Fatted · 13/08/2018 20:10

It's not aging at all! Looks lovely. I'm 38 and I still colour mine dark brown. It can make you look a bit paler than usual but I'd say go for it.

Personally, I'm sick of seeing nothing but women in their 50's and over with badly bleached hair trying to hide their greys.

teddycat · 13/08/2018 20:12

You do look younger with the red hair but older with the blue

Claw001 · 13/08/2018 20:14

I like dark hair too.

I dye mine dark brown ( my natural colour to cover a few greys and I’m 49!) I’m definitely not going ‘beige’!

Echo2 · 13/08/2018 20:14

Op, honestly, you could be early 20’s so actually look a lot younger than you are.
I don’t know what photo other people are looking at but no way do you look 45!

Plentyoffishnets · 13/08/2018 20:15

I'd say late 30s - 37?

ShadowCatt · 13/08/2018 20:16

I'd take 46 on the chin...the 50's tho i did feel they were pushing it a bit.Grin

The darker colour takes years off you! Though maybe a softer dark brown would be easier especially if you're not big into wearing makeup like me.

user100987 · 13/08/2018 20:18

Omg as if you look 50! I would've said early 30s (and I've seen you've posted your age but promise I would've said that anyway)

Claw001 · 13/08/2018 20:19

I think it’s the way the OP was worded, as if you are older than you look, influenced people’s guess work!!

Bobbybobbins · 13/08/2018 20:19

The pink suits you best imo so I would go for a warmer hair colour - black and blue are very cold colours.

Claw001 · 13/08/2018 20:21

Pink? Where are the pink pictures? I can’t see any!

MollyHuaCha · 13/08/2018 20:25

Whoops, sorry OP... ShockThanks

If it's any consolation, I'm often mistaken for up to 20 years different to my actual age.

lostinjapan · 13/08/2018 20:25

I was going to guess between 37 and 41 (I can't see the second set or pictures so can't comment on those). I do think the black hair is quite harsh and a lighter brown would be more flattering. But then I don't believe every fashion/beauty choice has to be flattering - if you like it, keep it.

crazycatgal · 13/08/2018 20:26

After seeing the pink I definitely think a warmer colour would be lovely on you, maybe a deep chocolate brown.

Noviceoftheweek · 13/08/2018 20:27

Early sixties I suspect.

ShadowCatt · 13/08/2018 20:28

I have to say I loved the "you look Welsh" comment.

ManeNachger · 13/08/2018 20:29

Is there a second pic with lighter hair? Why cant I see it?? I am similar age to you OP and have little eye creases. You look lovely.

ShadowCatt · 13/08/2018 20:30

@crazycatgal I've always stayed away from brown as that's my natural colour. Even though I know there are various shades of it, it's always been an instant rejection.

justme28 · 13/08/2018 20:31

I have obviously seen your actual age but can't understand how on earth people think 40s/50s/60s. I would have guess 28/29/30.

You have beautiful skin and I think your hair looks lovely dark, I much prefer it to the other colours.

Showpony2 · 13/08/2018 20:32

Seriously, who cares? The question should be are you healthy an strong?

justme28 · 13/08/2018 20:32

To be fair, no one said 60s, I just got carried away in my outrage at the responses haha.

ShadowCatt · 13/08/2018 20:34

@justme28 someone actually did say early 60's a few comments agoGrin

So outrage away..
