Rihanna's Skinny Brows....Come back?

umpteennamechanges · 03/08/2018 19:26

Rihanna has tiny skinny brows on the latest Vogue cover...

Some people are predicting a revival of the skinny brow (perhaps not quite as skinny as Rihanna's) as to teens/those in their early 20's it will be a 'fresh new look' and not like reliving the 90s

Anyone wanting a skinny brow come back or do you think square brows and slugs will hold out? Grin

I bloody well hope not!

Gogreen · 03/08/2018 19:37

I hope not, over plucking will ruin you into adulthood

FelicityFoxworth · 03/08/2018 19:49

Her real brows will be under make up , she's definitely not had this done for real

TeaAddict235 · 03/08/2018 19:49

It is a fresher look, no one can deny. I've not seen rhianna, but essentially we should all go for the best look that compliments our face/body/ style and not jump on every bloody bandwagon going on.

Rhianna is very beautiful and so many styles will work well for her face shape, eye shape, style etc. The same goes for hairstyles etc, she makes most things look great. That's why stylists like her. Look at all that hideous athlesure by BOY that she was wearing about 2 years ago, she made it look wearable and cool. It was essentially caps, hoodies and jogging bottoms with some crap looser slogan across it.

Again with that bedwear evening wear that she was caught out popping to the off licence seen in. She made it look good. It ain't.

By the way have you seen how the people who work for magazines like Vogue look and dress? A librarian could show more inspiration. They look as boring at shite. Then they regurgitate crap about how coral is this years summer colour. It ain't. Every colour is wearable every day of every year just they seem to grab black each and every day

Link please.
I can't believe skinny brows will come back into fashion. Aren't we still into huge micro-blading?

This one? Vogue cover from a day ago.

Is this what is now considered thin? Looks fabulous to me.

Beansonapost · 03/08/2018 20:58

No... they're awful

Monday55 · 03/08/2018 21:13

it's an awful look!

Ellapaella · 03/08/2018 21:46

It's awful. But then so are the horrible fake slugs that people draw on as well.

AsTheMilesTheyDisappear · 03/08/2018 21:47

I like it better than the scouse brow.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/08/2018 21:56

Shock Thin brows are really vile.
I don't like fake thick brows. Terrible.

MoltonSilver · 03/08/2018 22:41

They're not real brows. They're just pencil lines. Yuck.

XiCi · 04/08/2018 09:57

Nooooooo, thin,, overplucked brows are hideous and incredibly ageing. I could cry looking at mine in the 90s and then seeing how lovely and naturally thicker they were before then. Im just thankful they grew back. There are plenty of microbladers etc that are making a good living from the unfortunates who's eyebrows were permanently wrecked from overplucking

IStillMissBlockbuster · 04/08/2018 10:00

What is with the obsession around eyebrows?? I really don't get it. Just leave them be?

LanguidLobster · 04/08/2018 11:08

I don't know, I just get a bit pissed off with people harping on about her weight. She's fine. Seems like a nice woman actually.

So my sparse eyebrows are in fashion again?? Swings and roundabouts.

RoseWhiteTips · 04/08/2018 11:55

Sparse? That is loaded with negative connotations. Lol

I think you are referring to slender, feminine brows as opposed to the hideous tattooed variety.

ggirl · 04/08/2018 12:01

I thank god for microblading, my brows disappeared after menopause .

Mine look very natural , you can't tell they're micro bladed at all ...best money very spent.

wheezing · 04/08/2018 13:09

I don’t hate thin eyebrows. Obviously hers are OTT. I think super dark slug eyebrows look worse than the 90s look.

BifsWif · 04/08/2018 13:11

I’ve just spent a fortune on bloody microblading so I hope not!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 04/08/2018 13:17

Hooray, I'm going to be on trend for the first time since the 70s! (Do not over pluck them. I spent my teens looking surprised. They never really recovered.)

ProjectGainsborough · 04/08/2018 13:56

Ok, that’s it. I’m out. No more brow trends.

A classic, unfucked with brow and that’s it.

ReckItWralf · 04/08/2018 14:08

My YR8 form tutor had eyebrows just like that Vogue cover.
My friend used to make up little rhymes about all the teachers and the one for our form tutor one went:

My name is Mrs S———-
I pluck my eyebrows out,
I used to have lots of them
But now I have nowt Grin

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 04/08/2018 16:16

Rihanna looks ridiculous with those eyebrows.
Does anyone else think that Vogue has totally lost the plot - I have never seen such ugly shite masquerading as fashion. No real woman would be seen dead - the knitted balaclavas were a particular low point!
I miss Alexandra Schulman - maybe I've erased the memory but I'm sure Vogue wasn't quite so out of touch when she was editor.

pennycarbonara · 04/08/2018 16:30

It would be surprising if that thin became fashionable again, but yes would prefer to see somewhat thinner eyebrows in fashion again.

Simply because my age means mine (naturally once very thick) are thinner due to many years of plucking, waxing and threading, and being younger in the 90s and 00s formed my idea of what looks tidy and aesthetically balanced. Sorting out eyebrows was for a long time one of the easiest ways to look more groomed with negligible makeup. A 25 year old, used to a different look, may feel that thin eyebrows look wrong, that it's fine for eyebrows to be the most prominent feature on a face, thin eyebrows might need too much upkeep etc.
