Touch Eclat - is it just me?!

LoveBiscuits · 27/07/2018 16:57

I can't seem to get on with it, I put a small amount under eyes and it just dries into my fine lines.

I'm 38 nearly so I do have a few crinkles (!) Everyone raves about Touch Eclat but I barely notice any difference using it, the difference I do notice isn't positive.

Is it just me?!

Me too. I treated myself to some a few years ago and it always looked very obvious when I wore it.

newroundhere · 27/07/2018 17:02

I've used it since my mid-late 20s (I'm now 39) and haven't had a problem. My skin is quite oily though, don't know if that makes a difference?

DoinItForTheKids · 27/07/2018 17:07

I think it's shite! Cannot understand people raving about it (although fab if it does work for you!!).

However I'm 51 so face like a road map and NO concealers work on me, NONE! All I do is dab on a layer of my trusty Estee Lauder Double Wear and that's the only think that doesn't slip off, cake or settle into my lines and make me look like I'm 90.

I've literally had about 20 'must have' ' rave' concealers and literally not a single one works, including TE.

sexnotgender · 27/07/2018 17:09

It’s rubbish, because people seem to think it’s a concealer. It’s more of a highlighter.

PamBeeslysCardigan · 27/07/2018 17:11

I use it as a highlighter rather than a concealor, it works a lot better for me that way. As per this article. I use clarins instant concealor under my eyes, it’s fantastic.

mikado1 · 27/07/2018 17:13

The Aldi version is a good knock off for those that like it. Yes it's a highlighter really for under eyes.

OrgyOfBarminess · 27/07/2018 17:40

Have you tried using a primer underneath, there's the benefit porfection which is good and No 7 do a really good version too.

AnaViaSalamanca · 27/07/2018 17:50

terrible, and so yellow.

like PP I find doublewear the best

lindyloo57 · 27/07/2018 21:17

me too tried loads of concealors inc TE none work for me, i just do as Doinitforthekids

1forAll74 · 28/07/2018 03:45

I have never been able to find a concealer that will cover dark circles under my eyes, as its probably obvious that it won't be possible. I just live with looking a bit tired mostly. Last week, some kind of insect bit me right under my left eye,and I ended up with a puncture mark, and a swollen blackened under eye look, no point in trying to disguise that.

Monty27 · 28/07/2018 04:24

I thought it was rubbish. It's all in the marketing.

interestingdays · 28/07/2018 05:04

It's rubbish. I agree. I've recently discovered Trish McEvoy Correct and Conceal (Selfridges). I also like NARS concealer (in a pot).

BleachedWail · 28/07/2018 07:02

For dark circles try the Bobbi Brown correctors rather than a concealer- it’s the only product I purchase over and over

Alicatz66 · 28/07/2018 08:09

I hate Touché Eclat concealer too .. I'm 52 and have abandoned concealer and powder.. in finding a more sheer , dewy light diffusing foundation and blush stick or cream look way better. For eyes I use a few dots of Benefit "stay don't stray" primer on eyelids and under eyes and a tiny bit more foundation cover dark circles but don't look dry ... really works for me

MoltonSilver · 28/07/2018 11:21

I though it was rubbish until I discovered it's not a concealer. It's a highlighter. It might be good used properly but I needed a concealer so I replaced or with a cheap imitation - L'Oreal touche magique, which is pretty good.

verite · 28/07/2018 16:03

Nope. Think it’s rubbish. I use Lancôme concealer under my eyes. Much better

Fatbelliedgirl · 28/07/2018 23:01

TE not the same as it once was.Rimmel Match Perfection concealer works well for me.

Taffeta · 28/07/2018 23:03

I used TE many years ago

Now I’m 50 I second Bobbi Brown corrector for under the eyes

Botanicbaby · 28/07/2018 23:06

Never liked it, loada hype. Don’t waste your money.

hairyscarey · 28/07/2018 23:50

For flip sake...Touche Eclat is not a concealer!

makeupmaven · 29/07/2018 19:31

I love it. But I do have oily, yellow-undertoned skin.

LoveBiscuits · 29/07/2018 19:39

I know it's not a concealer but the issue is it cakes up and sits in the creases. Just that I wouldn't expect that based on all the hype about it !

Rimmel Match Perfection is the only one that has ever worked for me. Under £7 in Superdrug. www.superdrug.com/Make-Up/Face/Concealer/Rimmel-Match-Perfection-Concealer-01/p/755476

Laiste · 29/07/2018 21:10

I bought it back in the '90s full of excitement (back when i still used to manage to get excited about beauty products)(these days i know i'm 90% sure to be disappointed) and i was ... yep ... disappointed.

Made my eyes look puffy and over made up.

JulianOfNorwich · 29/07/2018 21:59

It's not a concealer.
