Please help me find an edgy black dress

I need a black (or black and white) dress for a cocktail type event. I need sleeves to at least elbow length and dont suit skater/full skirt or high necked styles. I'd really like something a bit different, cost not the priority for the right thing. Help pls!

I think you need a browse at some fashiony boutique sites like Iris, My Theresa, Farfetch, Boozt etc. Some things will be mindblowingly expensive but there are also a lot in the £100-200 range. Also try Ganni, and ebay where you can enter all your requirements for sleeves, style etc.

That Anglpmania one is in the right direction. Bit worried that it makes the model look potbellied though .... but will order and try! I'm tallish and not a huge fan of mini styles as legs arent my best feature - and mini is often too short!

I think the off the shoulder detail is most likely to date it although it was a feature of evening wear long before cold shoulder tops became a thing.

Have you seen this one - it may be a better length for you although there's a split.

In my - very limited - experience Anglomania dresses are very forgiving although the quality wasn't as top notch as I'd expected.

I don't think VW ever dates. She has her own look that isn't necessarily what the rest of the fashion industry is doing.

The Bravissimo one is all-round flattering and not too cleavagey imo. (I almost never suit dresses.)

Argh Flo that Anglomania Vian dress is divine. I think the split would be okay. I worry about the neckline though, I have a long (ish) neck but the broad shoulders which suit more of a wide v or scoop. I may have to order it though.

There is something about the Bravissimo dress too which is calling to me (the length i think) even though I generally hate a booby/wrap style

Okay sorry for more questions but those that have bought anglomania before, if i'm usually a size 10, would an 8 be too much of a stretch? (I have found the Vian on sale but only an 8 and 14 avail)

I'm normally 8-10 (increasingly a 10) and I've fitted VW quite comfortably in an 8. I think she normally sizes generously and allows for boobs and hips. Those dresses are very fitted mind you, but they're intended to be.
