Hi all
Which style are most comfortable? I get a lot of hip pain (arthritis) and plantar fasciitis. My feet aren't particularly wide, but they are not narrow at all. Normal. I think.

If your foot needs to be secure, then I think styles with ankle straps (like Rio) would be more comfortable.

AlisonS13 · 27/07/2018 23:49

I have hip, knee and ankle problems and swear by Birkinstock Gizeh.
They stay on well, keep my feet and connected joints in the correct position.
With ordinary shoes I can be stopped by pain after a short walk (less than half mile) in birkies i have been known to get 5 miles walking done.
I am dreading the winter cos I hate cold feet and at the moment birkies are all I can wear.

Kaz2200 · 28/07/2018 07:16

Try the Mayari or Sydney, Gizeh are the only ones I can't wear.

Branleuse · 28/07/2018 07:18

I love mayari and i get them again and again.

mejon · 28/07/2018 07:50

I have Floridas, Arizonas and the Lidl look-a-likes and they're pretty sturdy but I've just ordered some Bali's as I need something more secure on my feet for when I go on holiday.

Mercurial123 · 28/07/2018 08:38

Mayari are my favourites too. And as someone mentioned on another post they are great at hiding bunions.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 28/07/2018 10:13

I have some Birkenstock trainers, and they are so comfortable. I've got my eye on some ankle boots for winter too.

WaitrosePigeon · 28/07/2018 10:14

Arizona in the new rubber version

2up2manydown · 28/07/2018 10:20

I’ve worn the simple Madrid style for years. They feel weird and hard for a week then they feel wonderful forever.

carrie74 · 28/07/2018 12:03

I've worn Gizeh, Mayari and Arizona as they're all secure on your foot without having to toe claw. I can't wear the Madrid ones at all, worse than flip flops for me.

Passmethecrisps · 28/07/2018 12:06

I had to replace my ancient Madrid pair recently and went for the carmen. The band across the foot is quite large so provides a fair amount of stability but a bit “prettier” than the Arizona

blueskypink · 29/07/2018 16:10

I bought a pair of Gizeh years ago when I developed plantar fasciitis. Could never get on with them and Skechers became my friend.

However, this year I bought a pair of Madrid and am now a complete convert!

I'm very keen to get a pair of Arizona as I think they may be better for the office and for walking distances. Not sure whether it's worth paying an extra £25 for the soft footbed or not - any advice?

Also not sure what colour to get. My Madrids are white and look great with summer outfits (I wear a lot of grey/navy linen in the summer and the white gives my outfits a lift). Worried that anything too dark will look too clumpy/frumpy. I like the snakeskin ones but am ancient so don't want to look like mutton etc. Any recommendations?

Kaz2200 · 29/07/2018 17:37

I have just bought some snake Madrid from tk max this week for £24.99 they are lovely, not many sizes left though.

Summerof2018 · 29/07/2018 17:39

Madrid. I'm on my 3rd pair. They last forever. That's 3rd pair in about 21 years Smile

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/07/2018 17:41

Madrid every time - love them!

Sleepyslops · 29/07/2018 17:45

Do you buy them online from TK Maxx? My local is crap and the shoes are all jumbled up. I'm going to look online Grin thanks all

I can’t wear flip flops but my Arizona’s are fantastic and very secure. Not currently suffering from PF so don’t know if they will help but they certainly haven’t brought mine on.

blueskypink · 29/07/2018 18:03

Anyone tried the soft footbed?

blueskypink · 29/07/2018 18:55

Have just dug out the ancient pair of Gizeh I bought years ago and didn't wear. I can see why now - the toe post is just so bloody uncomfortable!!!

Kaz2200 · 29/07/2018 19:57

Yes I bought them online from tk max

FatherFintanStack1 · 29/07/2018 21:31

My plantar fasciitis has just got a lot worse and I want to buy a pair online as I have no time to shop this week! Do the sizes come up particularly big or small? Also any views on the soft footbeds?

Kaz2200 · 29/07/2018 21:54

They come up big, I'm a 4 and have to buy the 36.

Passmethecrisps · 30/07/2018 08:06

They def come up big but the website has a guide you can use. They also do narrow so it’s worth taking a good look

Onynx · 30/07/2018 08:12

I bought these ones (Kumba) last week and they are so comfy. I was advised to drop down a size and the straps can be adjusted for width.
