Am I too old for this jumpsuit?

Be honest, I won't be offended!

I'm looking at this for my holidays, thought it would be nice for the evenings etc. and don't want to spend a lot. Already have a couple of nice dresses but fancied a change. I'm quite small, size 12, was going to wear it with khaki wedges. Will I look like a twat in it?

Oh and I'm 51.

So.... How old are you? First thought is no though.

confusedandemployed · 22/07/2018 19:30

Xpost. No way!

mimibunz · 22/07/2018 19:30

You will look fabulous! Go for it, OP!

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 22/07/2018 19:30

I like it, it's fun without being too girly. Can be dressed up or down. Give it a go 👍

AtrociousCircumstance · 22/07/2018 19:30

Not too old at all!

Newsofas · 22/07/2018 19:32

Of course you can wear it - looks lovely.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/07/2018 19:32

Where are you going? It's polyester, so if somewhere warm, it'll likely be too hot. It does look cute though, and you're definitely not 'too old' for it.

mimibunz · 22/07/2018 19:32

I’m 50 and I would wear it on holiday. Pair with a denim jacket in the evening.

AuntieStella · 22/07/2018 19:33

No - always check your mirror, and never the number of candles on the cake.

So if you feel terrific in it, go for ut.

AnyFucker · 22/07/2018 19:33

I love it !

You would need to be pretty bump free though....it looks like it would cling in all the wrong places

Ididnthearanything · 22/07/2018 19:34

Gosh no, you’re not too old (whatever that is). I think I saw it in the New Look window today. Not quite as vibrant IRL but still caught my eye. Worth a go.

elephantoverthehill · 22/07/2018 19:34

Wilbur I was in New Look today and I was looking at something v. similar in the sale. They seem to have lots of stripes atm. However I really didn't like the fabrics, it kind of reminded me of crimplene. At 53 that just makes me shudder. The one you are looking at is 97% polyester, but no you are not too old.

Cheto · 22/07/2018 19:35

It's really nice.. anything apart from leopard print is not off limits Wink

Omgineedanamechange · 22/07/2018 19:36

Oooo, I like that. Will be getting my 52 year old arse to new look to try it on first thing tomorrow.

WilburIsSomePig · 22/07/2018 19:39

@confusedandemployed - no way as in you think I'm too old? Or no way not too old? Grin

The fabric did put me off a bit, but I'm looking for cheap and cheerful so I know I won't get anything in a lovely fabric for the price I want to pay. I don't think this style of jumpsuit will be a fashion staple if you know what I mean so I don't want to spend a lot.

confusedandemployed · 22/07/2018 19:42

Sorry - no way are you too old, go for it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/07/2018 19:42

Just think you'll potentially swelter in it though.

WilburIsSomePig · 22/07/2018 19:43

No - always check your mirror, and never the number of candles on the cake.

Oh I like this @AuntieStella!

OP posts:
WilburIsSomePig · 22/07/2018 19:46

I'm not going to a 'hot' place on holiday, kind of similar climate to here. Which is a million degrees at the moment, so I could potentially sweat off a stone in weight whilst wearing it. Every cloud and all that ... Grin

My mum in her 70s has a jumpsuit similar to this, she looks amazing in it. go for it.

Mokepon · 22/07/2018 19:50

It's lovely but I think perhaps you might be better off buying some nice polyester slacks. Your ankles might get chilly in the evening. You could team those with a lovely twinset so you cover your arms.

Buy the jumpsuit. You're 51, not dead. I'd say buy it if you were 101 and wanted to wear it.

XingMing · 22/07/2018 19:51

I would wear that jumpsuit, at nearly 62, as long as it fitted and flattered. It's not too young, and you won't be showing unappealing acres of skin at a size 12. Agree totally that your yardstick should be the mirror not the candles. I might take a critical friend for a second opinion.

TheSassyAssassin · 22/07/2018 19:53

Oh I like that Wilbur! In fact.... might also have to make a little detour on the way to do the food shop tomorrow! Grin I'd say go for it and enjoy your hol!

Soapsy · 22/07/2018 19:59

Grin @Mokepon. Was getting all outraged on behalf of the OP there until I got to your second paragraph.
