..... even if I do say so myself! Grin

Firstly, I have no idea if this is a good idea. It was a complete mistake, so I'm not saying everyone should try it. Certainly not if you have sensitive skin.

I was doing my weekly face mask with, what I thought, was my Avene soothing mask, but after a few minutes, I noticed quite a lot of tingling. I just thought maybe it was because my skin had been more exposed to the sun recently.

I went to wash it off after 15 minutes and my face was really pink. And I mean, PINK. Was a little sore, a bit burny, so I went to double check the tube, panicking at this stage that I'd put some sort of industrial cleaner on my face by mistake Confused but it was actually just the Avene cleanse and polish, so basically just a cleanser. Obviously still not advised to leave on your face though.

Anyway, after about 30 minutes, my skin went back to it's usual colour, but it was like I'd had a professional facial. My skin looks and feels soooo smooth and I'd say it's taken a few years off me.

Again, I'm not suggesting you all go out and try this, but would be interesting to hear if anyone has done/does do this.

Smile

I'm curious to try it, but what's it actually called? I can't find anything called Avene Cleanse and Polish on Amazon...

NoFucksImAQueen · 13/07/2018 14:34

Following to find the proper name

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 14:41

Erm.... I'm not liable if you come out in a hideous rash or your face melts off though, am I? Confused

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 13/07/2018 14:44

I tried it....

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 14:48

Breakfast, ouch. It could have been worse. Your right eye still looks great!

Sorry, it's not Avene!! Grr

It's Sanctuary Spa, Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser. Oops.

Breakfast 😂

StoatofDisarray · 13/07/2018 14:53

Awwww, it's got alcohol in it :-( But I will follow to see what results people get (and also to find out if you wake up tomorrow morning with your face burned off!)

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 14:55

But again, try at your own risk!

I'm sure I heard that using cleanser as a face mask occasionally is a 'thing', though.

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 14:56

Ah, maybe that was the reaction then. Maybe it's ok to use very occasionally...

It sounds like it removed the top layer of skin from your face like a micro dermabrasion.

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 22:17

Bloody hell, then what's in it?!

OP posts:
chaunceygardener · 13/07/2018 22:19

I volunteer to buy some and try 👍

Not going anywhere important next week!

Do Boots sell it?

chaunceygardener · 13/07/2018 22:20

Did you use the hot cloth or just put it on like a mask?

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 22:21

Good luck Wink They do indeed.

OP posts:
chaunceygardener · 13/07/2018 22:23

Will try and get one tomorrow and report back.

keeponmovin · 13/07/2018 22:23

I put it on like a mask and took it off with the cloth.

Ingredients on website - a couple of acids and urea amongst other stuff. Urea is the stuff you put on hard skin on feet and it leaves them soft. Acids speak for themselves I guess - peel, brightening etc.
Someone who knows more about ingredients might be along later.

keeponmovin · 14/07/2018 15:19

chauncy, any luck?...

Her face has dropped off, she can’t get to the keyboard right now!

chaunceygardener · 14/07/2018 15:22

Have just bought it! Will try tonight!

LoveInTokyo · 14/07/2018 16:32

Ooh, I’m away at the moment but I have some of that stuff at home. Will try this when I get back.

(Now I come to think of it, it does burn a bit if I leave it on while I’m shaving my legs.)

keeponmovin · 14/07/2018 19:39

Keep us posted Smile

Its just a reaction op. For some reason i had a facial once and had a massive awful reaction. Bright red burning face was awful. When it went down my skin looked fab for days Grin
