To me the dress and shoes don't go. The shoes are too 'heavy' for the dress; would look better with strappy sandals.

ChateauneufDuTwat · 09/07/2018 23:20

I think you missed out a third photo of what you're going to wear over the slip?

expatmigrant · 09/07/2018 23:36

If you're small and petite then the slip dress might look nice. However, shoes are way too heavy, more like something to wear with black jeans in the winter.

BlameItOnTheNeon · 10/07/2018 01:06

I love the shoes and the dress, but not together, not sure the colour of the dress goes v well with the shoes iyswim.

If you were wearing a black leather jacket or blazer over the top I think it would tie it together well, and the dress could work with the shoes, provided you didn't melt in the heat!

TroubledLichen · 10/07/2018 01:16

No to the shoes, they’re definitely more wear with dark skinny jeans in colder weather. The dress could go either way, could look amazing if you’re small and slim but if you’re busty it could look as if you’ve forgotten to put your actual dress on over your slip. Regardless it definitely requires a more delicate shoe like heeled strappy sandals maybe a plain stiletto court.

Hogtini · 10/07/2018 01:23

Not together sorry. The dress just needs high heeled sandals

Ollivander84 · 10/07/2018 01:30

Chateau Grin that just reminded me of my dad
"Are you wearing a skirt with that top?"
"Can you hang the pelmet back up when you're done wearing it?"

LadyMary1918 · 10/07/2018 01:39

Are you the entertainment ? Sorry love but that looks like something that would be worn standing on a corner

halfwitpicker · 10/07/2018 01:41
Grin

Lady Mary

Sorry, as you were

BlameItOnTheNeon · 10/07/2018 01:46

Some of these comments are rude Hmm.

VioletPickles · 10/07/2018 01:48

Difficult to judge without seeing you in the outfit, but I agree with the others, the shoes are maybe too heavy?

Apileofballyhoo · 10/07/2018 01:52

Never saw so many unkind comments on S&B before.

Monty27 · 10/07/2018 01:57

The dress belongs with sandals on a hot summers day. The shoes belong with skinny jeans if you can carry that off. At a pub

abac · 10/07/2018 10:41

Thank you.

Dress looks like night wear to bed

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/07/2018 11:22

Don't see anything wrong with the dress, I do think it needs more delicate shoes though, i agree that those ones look very heavy next to it.

Bombardier25966 · 10/07/2018 12:04

Those shoes are hideous. The only place they need to go is the bin.

The dress is very slippish but could work with delicate sandals, like it looks like you've got on your feet in the pic!

SparkyBlue · 10/07/2018 16:37

I think the boots are way too wintery and the dress really needs strappy sandals. I actually really like the boots and think they will look fab for winter wear.

abac · 10/07/2018 19:33

Ok. Loud and clear about the shoes. May rethink the leather dress too now.

Are you sure that's not lingerie?

abac · 10/07/2018 19:54

I'm sure.

I think we need to see you in it. I think a slip dress is fine, very 90s and perfect for this weather. But if the dress is leather then it will hang very differently to how I'm imagining and will be very hot. I actually think the shoeboots are fine, the contrast is cool, and this is even more the case if the dress is leather. But I'd be wearing cotton or silk for nights out at the moment.

TeaAddict235 · 10/07/2018 20:04

As you are 30, wear the dress and enjoy it. Then put it down to youth and experience. Take a photo and have it for the memories.

After that use it as Lingerie.

Don't get me started on those shoes. Oh deary me

seasure · 10/07/2018 21:05

I actually like the dress . Slip dresses can look really good , don't get het up about the pearl clutching here .
I'd wear it with shoes like this

Did you say leather dress? Looks really cool, probably better in real life and I like the edgy look you are going for. Have to agree on a less heavy shoe, but there isn't anything wrong with a leopard print or a contrasting shoe! Have fun!
