Help - are these granny shoes or not....

woolythoughts · 03/07/2018 10:03

I have difficulty finding shoes/sandals that fit my difficult feet but which don't look like soemething my granny would wear.

These appeal to me....

www.pavers.co.uk/collections/womens-sandals/products/stretch-sandals-poly25000-309-522?variant=1270261153799

But I fear they'd make me look 62 not 42

Theyre not stylish but its not a granny colour. Depends on what you wear, painted nails etc.
Have you looked at the mumsnet sandals recommendations here ?

woolythoughts · 03/07/2018 10:23

My problem is they need to be wide fitting - and I'll almost guarantee most of the ones on the mumsnet recomended page won't be

It s seems to be wide fitting and flat = granny or unstylish

They are terrible.

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2018 10:32

Step away from the granny sandals OP!!!!

Have a look on simply be or yours clothing websites. Really nice range of sandals in 3 different width fittings and guaranteed to make you looked younger than 62 Grin

jilldoyoulikeowls · 03/07/2018 10:32

Honestly OP - I think you could find much better options.

These. Geox via Laredoute.

DubaiismyBlackpool · 03/07/2018 10:33

Erm, I think the pink ones are granny sandals, sorry. But the white ones aren't.

I have 2 pair of these

I love them and hope they aren't too grannyish

PamsterWheel · 03/07/2018 10:34

Sorry meant to say Geox are not wide fit but considering the style might work?

PamsterWheel · 03/07/2018 10:37

Bright pink. EEE. Nicer

PamsterWheel · 03/07/2018 10:39

I could go on. Loads of wide fit sandals out there!!! Those Pavers ones are like those neoprene swim shoes with bits cut out. Unnecessary, bordering on obscene 😂

Haberpop · 03/07/2018 10:40

I am 54 and no, just no. Sorry.

I am wide fit and love a comfy shoe but even I'd draw the line at those. Sorry OP.

Silverstreaks · 03/07/2018 11:12

All of the ones Pamster linked to are much more up to date than the bright pink glorified water shoes. Some lovely ones to mull over.

OliviaPopeRules · 03/07/2018 11:14

Yep sorry serious granny shoes

viccat · 03/07/2018 11:18

I'm usually all for comfort over style but those are really pretty bad, although my 73 year old mother might like them...

Have you considered Birkenstocks? The Arizone 2 strap style in suede is super comfortable and the straps so adjustable that they can accommodate wide feet too.

goose1964 · 03/07/2018 11:24

They're fine for the beach, nothing else. Pavers do more stylish ones too, avenue DD ,mid twenties , likes some of them

MsHomeSlice · 03/07/2018 11:26

what is wrong with the fit of those M&S ones...there is a gap you could fit your fist in over the toes!

unintentionalthreadkiller · 03/07/2018 11:28

They're really terrible. Is that a neoprene top?!

there has to be something better out there, even Hotter would be better than that!

BovrilonToast · 03/07/2018 11:30

I know everyone bangs on about saltwater sandals but if you have wide feet they are perfect. I've been wearing them all summer and normally wouldn't wear sandals as they rub so much.

A few weeks ago I walked round London for hours in them and my feet were fine, not even achy.

They are expensive but the last forever. Mine still look new and I've been wearing them constantly!
