Deodorant issues

If mitchum isn't working (smell wise, its keeping me dry), what else can I use? Thanks

Perspirex. You only apply it twice a week at night before going to bed. You will not sweat whatsoever. Just don't shave fore a few days before hand or it will sting

SluttyButty · 23/06/2018 16:37

The best thing to keep the smell away for me is washing armpits with bar soap only, no shower gel and men's deodorant, the stick lynx one. No whiffs at all.

hairylegsonshow · 23/06/2018 16:45

I have been struggling with stinky armpits for a while, and a few weeks ago started washing with bar soap (from Lidl - their own brand white one) and I kid you not, it is a miracle! Just been on holiday in 32 degree heat, and haven't even needed to wear deoderant (just a tiny bit of coconut oil) and I smell completely fresh by the end of the day.

wizzywig · 23/06/2018 16:49

I knew I should've put down I swapped to soap bars a while back and it hasn't made any difference

Is it a medical problem?.

NannyR · 23/06/2018 16:57

The crystal deodorant stones like pitrok work the best for me. They don't stop you sweating but there is no body odour smell at all at the end of the day.

ziggiestardust · 23/06/2018 16:58

Have you tried drying your armpits with a hairdryer after putting your Mitchum on?

BlueberryMarshmallow · 23/06/2018 16:59

I use the sure maximum protection (in the stick) and then a spray deoderant over the top and wash underarms with bar soap. I struggled for ages before I found that worked.

GreyHare · 23/06/2018 17:11

I find the only deodorant that works for me is Rightguard, the overnight ones made my armpits sore and Mitchum and Sure do nothing for me and I end up stinking.

wizzywig · 23/06/2018 17:22

It'd be great if you could buy samples of deodorant. I don't think it is a medical problem. I'm always hot. I like cold weather, would happily holiday somewhere cold too

What's worked for me is switching to bar soap and then alternating my deodorant most days. I now use a combo of Sure roll on and Bionsen and have no problems now!

hairylegsonshow · 23/06/2018 19:19

I switched to bar soaps a while ago too, and it actually made things worse (it was a nice, 'natural' one from a health food shop)....but the Lidl one has been a game changer - I feel like a new woman swooshing around with my fresh pits :D

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/06/2018 19:20

I use Schmidt deoderant stick (bought it in Urban Outfitters ) its a waxy melty texture , bit Menthol/Lemon smell but does keep me dry even though its not an antiperspirant. (And cruelty free)

Menopausal flushes here to add to the hot weather

TheWineDarkSea · 23/06/2018 19:22

Clinique roll on works for me - have used it ever since my teens after finding out (embarrassingly) that none of the supermarket / Boots ones work for me.

SluttyButty · 23/06/2018 20:22

I use Aldi's own brand, white bar soap. Nothing fancy, no added nourishing oils, just soap.

Freetogo · 23/06/2018 20:25

Mitchum makes me smell.

Sure maximum, reduced to £3 sometimes, keeps me fresh all day. I could wear my work polo top the next day if I wanted to. I never do, but thats how fresh it smells.

Lifechanger for me.

hugoagogo · 23/06/2018 20:30

Triple dry roll on unscented, apply before bed and leave to dry for ten minutes before putting your top on- this is the only downside, but I just read my book.
It works brilliantly, I now never smell.Grin

ComeOnGordon · 23/06/2018 20:31

I’m another huge fan from Sure Maximum protection. I never have stinky pits

Freetogo · 23/06/2018 20:39

I shower twice a day, I dont put the Sure Maximum on before bed, just in the morning after a shower btw, you dont get as much in the container as other deodrants, but it is worth it.

GeorgeTheHippo · 23/06/2018 20:41

I need to find one that works and can be worn with a black sleeveless dress without leaving white marks. Any ideas? Is Pitrok worth a try?

BusterGonad · 23/06/2018 22:35

I use PitRok and will never use anything else again. I love it. I feel so much cleaner without all that sticky unnatural gunk and my clothes no longer get ruined under the armpits.

lhastingsmua · 23/06/2018 23:39

Which Mitchum product do you use?

I use this one (and the other scents). I never smell with this

wizzywig · 23/06/2018 23:41

ihasting i use the aerosol one. Just thought, ive used the same brand for well over a year. Could i be too used to it? So its not working?

OP posts:
lhastingsmua · 23/06/2018 23:52

Aerosol deodorants do virtually nothing for me on a super hot day, so it could definitely be worth a try to switch to the solid one?

I’m not sure if your body is used to the brand or not, I wouldn’t think that would happen? I have been using the solid Mitchum for about 2 years and it’s still effective. If you think the brand is an issue, try Sure Maximum that others have mentioned- it seems good.

Freetogo · 24/06/2018 05:53

Sure Maximum is solid
