Neroli Portofino smells like every other neroli/citrus based ££££££££s Italian inspired cologney thing to me. It's nice. It's fresh. It's juicy. It's nothing that Yves Rocher Essences de Neroli isn't for about a tenner, and I imagine every other volatile neroli fragrance out there. Dd has about 10 and they are all virtually identical- lovely, one and all, but nothing to justify any ££££££s in TF's pocket.
I liked Twilly a lot more than I expected. Especially as it was receiving the same sort of hype that Gabrielle was. Hermes does very little I don't like, I can only think of the poo-smelling Jardin Apres le mousson that had me scrubbing.
I'm going to need Cinema I think. I have hovered over it before from PP. Am hitting London next weekend and so am going to spend time deciding which 4160s to order, and which beautiful bag from the classy bag thread to treat myself to. I am going to spend the summer buying 4160s, Perfume Society and others who won't deliver to foreign.
I retested Angelique sous la pluie yesterday and it still shrieks flyspray to me. So it's gone in the ever growing "things to hand over to perfumistas" bag. I'll produce a list by the end of the week and get them out to you once I'm on UK shores. Determined to get rid of stuff I don't like for once and for all.
Samsara today. Every time I wear this I marvel again at how damn clever it is. It could easily be a minger in the wrong hands. The sweet citrussy creaminess could go horribly wrong. But it's Guerlain. So it's perfection. It reminds me a bit of 24 Faubourg in its strength, yet classy cleverness. Love it.
