Furry slides - wtf?

Just that really. Although I veer towards a more classic look, I like to keep an eye on fashion trends. But furry slides - WHY??? I just don't get it.

Nor do I. It’s “fashion”, do they’re everywhere, and truly awful.

I've seen a few people with these on and assumed they were slippers!

Slippers and the furry stuff will get all dirty at matted from being worn outside. Ridiculous!

They were everywhere last year too.

Teen DD insisted on a pair to wear around the POOL on our summer holiday last year.

I was out and about yesterday and saw several young people wearing them. To me they look like slippers, the ones the housekeeper in the Tom and Gerry cartoons used to wear.

Difficult ... They often look (to me) really rather fine in photos - but every single person I’ve seen wearing them in real life looks irredeemably ... wel, not good.

Haha I saw a woman wearing these on the school run the other day. Wtf? She looked ridiculous. I nearly asked her where her pyjamas were.

I think it's the 'slippers' thing that bothers me. My very proud working-class mum insisted that only a slut Certain Sort Of Woman wore slippers in public. Unless on a hospital ward, obvs.

They're hideous, and everyone I've seen wearing them (male or female) seems to wear them with white socks too making them look even worse.

Ha I’ve got some. I bought them last year. I luffs them. I do occasionally get looks but I care not. They’re ace. I call them my muppet shoes

I assumed these were slippers for months!

Fashion is one thing, but when what you’re wearing ends up looking like you are doing something incongruous - leaving the house in something you’ve slept in (those pyjama trouser suits) or as if you’ve not bothered to get dressed properly - it’s lazy design and looks ridiculous.

Yes, WTF! I know someone from another country who bought a pair of these in England and seems very impressed with their "English stylishness." I'm thinking, "No, they look daft!"

I have a pair I got for about a fiver in a sale last year. I would never wear them in public out and about but they're good to pop on if I need to go out into the garden and i would probably wear them on a beachy type holiday.

They're not comfy for walking far as they sort of slip off.

There are also mega cheapo ones that seem to be made of feathers which look hideous and moult.

I object to the fact that the models wearing them on eg the Puma website wear them with knee length sport socks (not envy)

There are young girls and teenagers wearing fake fur or marabou feather slides with trackies or leggings.

They look like they've left the house with their grandmas' house mules.

i am so unfashionable I don't even know what "slides" are. I thought you meant things that go in your hair!!

My boss wears them at work. She looks very stylish though - Chanel shift dress and an impeccable pedicure - a naturally elegant lady envy

(she'd look good in a sack though, whereas I look like I'm wearing a sack in anything)

Some days f these “fashionable “ items are a joke. They just put them in the shops for a laugh and see which suckers buy them.

I nearly bought these , they looked incredible, but I'm glad I did not cave in and buy them , not that I don't find them pretty anymore, I still love them, but id be constantly worried I'd ruin them the minute I step outside the house,
