Hard feet on skin

How can I soften my foot skin at home, please? I didn't realise how bad they were but I need help with some home remedies to sort them out.

You need Footner.

Flexitol.
Marvellous stuff.
Slather it on at night and put on some socks.
Wash off in shower in morning.
Three days and you'll see a real difference

an old fashioned foot scraper thing like a grater, and lashings of coconut oil

Footners are great. You need to time when you use them because a week later you feet peel really badly but the end result is good.

I heard that Footner gives you fresh skin where it was relatively fine but the areas that are callused, normally in the heel area, it doesn't work too well???

DH once bought a sample back from a medical conference. I had horrible feet and tried it.

It’s incredibly simple. I put it on last thing at night before bed. Makes a huge difference within days for little faffing.

I've just done Footner for the first time. It worked very well although it didn't get all the dead skin off my heels, where it was thickest. However, I reckon if I do it again it will all come off. The transformation was pretty dramatic, in a good way.

Another footner fan here although a Newton sponge and flexitol work well together too.

Margaret Dabbs hygiene cream is fantastic stuff, just put in once a day and it sorts it all out. Much better results than flexitol which I thought was brilliant prior to trying this

Chiropodist every 4 months and a huge tub of Flexitol by my bed. My feet are baby soft. I’ve been going for the last 14 years and never had to resort to pumice stones, foot files or any other gadgets. Can’t sing the praises of a chiropodist highly enough.

Another vote for flexitol, this stuff works wonders on really dry and cracked heels.

Footer type stuff really helps keep mine under control thou flexitol helps in between

i don't have hard cracked heels, and for a light thinning of dead skin footner is fine...although it takes days to get the full effect and is expensive (or so i think)
a pumice stone done daily with liberal skin softener (glysomed or eucerine) applied at bedtime with little socks on works just as well as the footner product.
arm and hammer has a foot product my dh likes.

Seconded. It's prescribed for diabetics, who really have to look after their feet. Melts hard skin away.

TK Maxx often have Footner like chemical sock products but much cheaper. I find them very effective. The next time I use one I am going to put a bit on my elbows too.

I also like the Margaret Dabbs foot file that they sell in M&S. It gives a very satisfying shower of white dust when I use it.

Following with interest as my hooves feet are in a terrible state. Can't seem to shift the hard skin. A friend of mine went to a chiropodist recently and says her are so much better now. I think I may have to admit defeat and leave my feet in the hands of the professionals.

i recently saw a podiatrist - half an hour later, feet done and for £35, i didn't think it was terrible because I must've spent £15-20 on DIY foot products that I couldn't be bothered to use in a sustained enough way!

Google foot peeling mask! I was VV sceptical! They cost about £8. You put on these little plastic booties with a gel inside and leave them on for an hour and a half then wash your feet. About 5 days later ALL the nasty skin peels off (pretty gross!) but I couldn't believe the results, my feet look and feel like baby feet!!
