Urgent - is this dress interview appropriate?

I have an interview tomorrow.
I was going to wear trousers but the top I ordered was late and turned out to be a disaster.
I have this dress and navy shoes.
Thanks

Yes, totally appropriate (and I work in a very corporate environment).

Do you have a decent necklace to add a bit of fun?

QueenofLouisiana · 11/06/2018 18:52

Yes, make sure you have tights on though. It’s acgreat dress. Good luck!

Pinkkahori · 11/06/2018 18:53

Thanks.
Will definitely be wearing tights.
I don't think I have necklace.

Perfect

Pinkkahori · 11/06/2018 18:57

I'm wondering if I need a jacket. I might have an hour or two in the morning. Any suggestions?

Absolutely. I have loads of navy dresses for work. Accessorise with a cerise pink jacket

frenchfancy · 11/06/2018 19:03

Looks great - and it has Pockets!!

Pinkkahori · 11/06/2018 19:10

It's such a comfortable dress.
Glad it's considered appropriate. I'm trying to get back to work after many years as a SAHM.

Lovely dress.

Ditto a jacket, dependent on what the role is (as to whether need a jacket or not and if yes what colour).

Good luck lass.

Fibbertigibbet · 11/06/2018 19:19

Brilliant interview dress!

Good luck!

HelenaJustina · 11/06/2018 19:21

Lovely dress, in this weather I would say no jacket required. Just tights and closed toe shoes.

Pinkkahori · 11/06/2018 19:22

It's a clerical role - civil service.

I like it too! Fingers crossed for you! Not a fan of the statement necklace unless it happens to be someone's thing anyway. Hope you get the job!

mimibunz · 11/06/2018 19:24

You will look great, OP. I would go for a bracelet to accentuate the 3/4 sleeve. Good luck!

BikeRunSki · 11/06/2018 19:24

I’d try and get a jacket if you have a moment. You can order from next up to 9pm for in-store delivery by midday the next day.

4yearsnosleep · 11/06/2018 19:24

Management clerical or standard clerical? I've recruited civil servants before, if it's management wear with a jacket, if not that dress is perfect. Good luck

tuttifritti · 11/06/2018 19:33

Love it

Trialsmum · 11/06/2018 19:35

It’s perfect 😊.

R00tat00tt00t · 11/06/2018 19:40

I think the dress looks great, smart but stylish. I wouldn't bother with a jacket in this weather. Make sure all other details are "polished" i.e. nails filed and polished, subtle make-up, hair clean and tidy, shoes clean, bag matching/complementing shoes, nice stud/small hoop earrings, not too many rings. Smile and relax. Good luck!

MaybeDoctor · 11/06/2018 19:50

Honestly, the dress is fine and rather than hunting for a jacket you would be better off spending the time before your interview going over your supporting statement and really checking that you know what you would say for each of the competencies.

I’ve lately come to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter all that much once you have got past the smart/scruffy threshold.

Racecardriver · 11/06/2018 19:51

Totally fine for civil service. Don't bother with a jacket - if so be hot. Good luck!

HermioneWeasley · 11/06/2018 19:54

Dress is lovely. No need for a jacket. You can jazz it up with a necklace or scarf if you want to, but no obligation.

Good luck!

Kate010377 · 11/06/2018 21:06

Agree no jacket required. What colour tights are you going with?

Pinkkahori · 11/06/2018 21:30

I'm going to wear natural look tights. Navy tights are too wintery and don't look good with it.
