Really stressed as I'm getting married next month. Does this work? I don't know how to put it up .... any advice?

Does this wig work?

Looks good. No idea how to put it up but if you live in London you should be able to find a stylist that specialises in doing wigs.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 09/06/2018 09:56

The last time I posted on here I had a hair piece post chemotherapy and was told I looked much older than 48. It stressed me out so much that I bought a wig but frankly the hairpiece was easier to deal with.

you look very pretty!

Maybe a half-up do would work well with that style?

AnduinsGirl · 09/06/2018 10:04

I like it a lot!

Peanutbuttercups21 · 09/06/2018 10:05

FWIW I wore my hair down for my wedding (don't like "formal hair" and wanted to look like me). I just washed it and brushed it, nothing else

abbey44 · 09/06/2018 10:08

48? Gosh, I think you look much younger than that! You have a beautiful complexion and lovely eyes. You'll be a gorgeous bride, however you have your hair.

AgentProvocateur · 09/06/2018 10:09

You look lovely - and MUCH younger than 48. Hope you have a wonderful wedding day.

Pannalash · 09/06/2018 10:10

48? Blimey op I’d have put you in your early 20s. Enjoy your wedding you will look lovely

Paintbox · 09/06/2018 10:22

I remember that thread op and I really think you should ignore those that were saying you looked older. Your hairpiece looked nice as does the wig. Wear whatever you feel nice in and is comfortable. Have an amazing day

Theusual · 09/06/2018 10:26

Will you be wearing a headdress or tiara or something? You could wear your hair loose like that if so.

Some hairdressers specialise in updos so ask around and get it done on the day.

FanDabbyFloozy · 09/06/2018 10:27

Are you in the North London area? There are wig hair specialists in Hendon as Jewish women often wear wigs outside the home. If the day of the wedding doesn't work, perhaps you could learn how they do an "up do" with the wig?

Incidentally I think you look great.

ScreamingValenta · 09/06/2018 10:27

It's great with your colouring and I like the style too - but I thought the hairpiece you had was nice as well. If I were guessing your age from your photos I would put you mid-thirties.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 09/06/2018 10:47

Oh thank you.
I know, I shouldn't have let it upset me that much but being told I looked "much older than48" really hit me. Maybe half up and down would work. I'm in Kent. I've been isolating a bit in case I look ridiculous.

CormoranStrike · 09/06/2018 10:48

Beautiful hair and I would put you around 30!

AtSea1979 · 09/06/2018 10:51

I didn’t see your other photo but I think it looks fab

Serial123 · 09/06/2018 10:53

Can I ask what you're wearing? I'm not sure if it's a top or dressing gown but I really like it.

Ohyesiam · 09/06/2018 10:54

I thought you were about 30!
You look very pretty. Congrats on your wedding xx

Lobsterquadrille2 · 09/06/2018 10:57

Ii'm wearing my fiancé's dressing gown! BHS. Thank you for all your kind comments. The last thread really upset me, even though I appreciate that posting asking for opinions means you'll get some you don't like. I'd just finished chemo, was interring my father's ashes and was a bit vulnerable so probably not a good idea!
Thank you all xx

formerbabe · 09/06/2018 11:02

You have such a pretty face! I like the hair.

Herja · 09/06/2018 11:05

You look great for you age! Absolutely NOT older, rather younger in fact.

I like the wig. I also think you have a beautiful face shape, so should have a full up do rather than half up half down, to show it more.

I'd take the wig to a hairdresser, but maybe try a couple, or ask for a recommendation.

Weezol · 09/06/2018 11:11

48? I thought 30 tops! I wore my hair down for my wedding too.
I opted for a wide comb that the florist decorated for me.

Mu mum has had total alopecia for years and I can spot a duff wig a mile off, they're usually too 'perfect'.

You look like that's your own hair, it's very flattering and looks natural.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 09/06/2018 11:16

Well, my last thread made me cry in a bad way but this one has too, so thank you so much. I feel a lot better now Smile

OP posts:
Lobsterquadrille2 · 09/06/2018 11:17

I mean in a good way!!

OP posts:
shutthedoorbob · 09/06/2018 11:20

You defo don't look 48 OP I'd have said 30 tops too!! The hair is lovely, I just wore mine down and natural for my wedding with a tiara, I think that would look nice with that style wig.

marmiteloversunite · 09/06/2018 11:21

I know this probably sounds silly but do you know any older teenagers? My daughter who is 15 has loads of wigs and loved styling them. She would do a great half up style. Unfortunately we are in South West but if you have friends with teenagers might be worth a think.
