Does this dress look ok ?

I bought this dress earlier this year but I've only worn it once because my Mum (who is 5ft3 and 8 stone) said it made me look huge.

Usually I wear shift dresses but I wanted something different. It is a bit low at the front so I have a vest top underneath.

I know it shows my tummy and boobs but I have always hated how I look and I am trying to embrace my body and accept it. I want to lose 7-10lbs but I am off work with anxiety and I am finding it tough.

Honest opinions please !

I think it looks very nice on you Smile

It looks very nice :)

MrsJimmyPerez · 06/06/2018 10:45

You look lovely Smile, healthy and shapely.

speakfriendandenter · 06/06/2018 10:45

Really highlights your lovely slim waist!

EstrellaDamn · 06/06/2018 10:46

Huge??? No, it looks lovely!

newdocket · 06/06/2018 10:47

I think the style suits your shape. It certainly does not make you look 'huge' (how mean!)

beenandgoneandbackagain · 06/06/2018 10:49

A non-lacy vest top (perhaps white cotton?) will instantly make it look less frumpy. If you're really bothered you could buy some of those "hold everything in" pants?

Otherwise it just looks like a nice everyday dress.

fuckadoodledandy · 06/06/2018 10:54

You look lovely and in no way huge. Sure your mum didn't mean to say something like that. Looks like you could dress it up or down too...the important thing is if you love it Thanks

MagicFajita · 06/06/2018 10:56

I like it on you.

Lweji · 06/06/2018 10:57

It looks fine, but it's difficult to say without comparing to your usual clothes.

TSSDNCOP · 06/06/2018 11:06

You absolutely aren’t huge, but that dress doesn’t do you any favours as it looks too small and the vest top looks wrong.

The shape of the dress is great in the waist, you could go for a more skater style skirt.

With the top part find a style you’re actually comfy with, faffarsing around with vest tops because the neckline’s too low will mean you never wear it with confidence.

BabloHoney · 06/06/2018 11:07

You look fab!

Orchidflower1 · 06/06/2018 11:12

You have a lovely waist- hope you feel better soon.

billybagpuss · 06/06/2018 11:13

Honestly if I passed you in the street I'd be jealous as I never have the confidence to wear something like that and you look lovely.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 06/06/2018 11:16

It looks nice and shows your lovely curvy shape.

vxa2 · 06/06/2018 11:19

Thank you. I think the idea of a plain vest is a good one.

Everyone has been very kind and frank and about what I could try. I'm not especially comfortable in it and possibly wouldn't buy it again but I would lie to feel able to wear it.

Thank you for boosting the self esteem shattered by my Mum. Smile

It looks lovely and definitely doesn't make you look huge at all Smile

Bluntness100 · 06/06/2018 11:19

You're certainly not huge and don't look it in that dress. Your mother is bonkers, I'm sorry,

However on saying that I find those dresses very hard to wear, lack of structure and thin material. I think it looks ok, but that's the dress and not you.

Bombardier25966 · 06/06/2018 11:21

Another vote for lovely. It doesn't emphasise your tum at all but it does your boobs, but that's a good thing, you've got great knockers!

endthefarts · 06/06/2018 11:23

It looks nice! Big boobs are hard to dress (mine are like yours) but that dress works for them.

ittakestwo · 06/06/2018 11:23

Looks lovely

ferrier · 06/06/2018 11:27

It's absolutely fine. I like the vest top too - it's a great colour. Ignore your mum!

Thebluedog · 06/06/2018 11:28

I think it looks lively on you. Really accentuates your waist and boobs. I really like the camisole underneath too

RoseWhiteTips · 06/06/2018 11:30

It is lovely. The layered look is modern.

whymewhyme · 06/06/2018 11:38

Looks lovely
