I have Fitflops or Birkenstocks which are great.

Griefbacon · 02/06/2018 21:52

No worse than a salt water isn’t a ringing style endorsement but I need to be comfy...mostly. Any Birkies which could work? I’d like a metallic

Bluntness100 · 02/06/2018 21:54

Yeah, no they can't ever look ok. Sorry. Agree they do look comfy though.😁

Aeroflotgirl · 02/06/2018 21:56

Just googled Saltwater sandals, nooooo their hideous, don't go there.

Kenworthington · 02/06/2018 21:58

Ha I quite like them.but also should I add so does my 79 yr old mother. She eyes them up every single time we go to Sainsbury’s but she can’t fit her hammer toe in them. That probably tells you all you need to know

Griefbacon · 02/06/2018 22:00

Oof. The saltwater I saw were so flat...and not me. Is that a relief I feel?!

BertBox · 02/06/2018 22:01

Newer style fit flops are nice these days. Though not cheap.

Lottapianos · 02/06/2018 22:01

I'm 38 and I think they're totally fine. I oukd make sure I had a nice dark glossy pedicure with them to avoid a frumpy look but other than that, I've seen loads worse

Slanetylor · 02/06/2018 22:03

I like them. I am ashamed of myself. I too am seeing them with a white tucked in t shirt and slouchy crop jeans.

Griefbacon · 02/06/2018 22:04

They’re nicer on a foot but the photo I took is outing so can’t post! Aren’t fit flip all toe post? I cannot bear a slider - my foot needs holding in but I’m not ready to wear totally sensible footwear...despite it being uk holiday

OP posts:
Fairylea · 02/06/2018 22:06

I opened the link expecting far worse. I think they’re fine, sure not exactly high heeled sexy type thing but for everyday wear perfectly fine. They look very comfortable.

Lottapianos · 02/06/2018 22:07

Honestly OP, just wear them if you like them. No one will give a fig

kirkandpetal · 02/06/2018 22:10

I've got these.....not worn them yet but loved them when I tried them on. I'm also thinking dark glossy pedicure tanned feet which I'm slowly achieving. I don't think I'm particularly frumpy so I say go for it!!

TeeBee · 02/06/2018 22:20

They're bloody hideous.

Fatball · 02/06/2018 22:22

No. Just no.

Griefbacon · 02/06/2018 22:25

Ouch. Surprised how much hatred there is for the comfy sandal! I need something cool (temperature) and comfy to hike around in for my holiday. Note: Not actual hiking. Just a lot of waking around
Or should I just wear my trainers (whole other thread) Maybe I’ll start one. “What shoes on UK holiday chasing after children? “ or “AIBU to want feet without blisters yet not look 90?”

OP posts:
Slanetylor · 02/06/2018 22:30

Are they really hideous? I’m losing all sense of style so. Any recommendations as to what would be better? I was hoping for a pair of flat brown sandals too!

BertBox · 02/06/2018 22:40

www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/sale-all-uk/lumy-leather-gladiator-sandals-p-E43-012

FitFlops without toe posts!

BertBox · 02/06/2018 22:41

I don't madly dislike your first pair though.

Shockers · 02/06/2018 22:42

They aren’t hideous unless you’re wearing a flowery two piece with them.

Lottapianos · 02/06/2018 22:43

They're lovely Bert

neveradullmoment99 · 02/06/2018 23:30

I think they are ok and the eyelet detail make them a bit more fashionable imo.

Itchytights · 02/06/2018 23:31

Revolting Grin

I have seen worse though

neveradullmoment99 · 02/06/2018 23:33

I think saltwater sandals are pretty.

Could these sandals be ok ever?
