Can anyone help me out ??

I ordered this dress for an event in 6 weeks time, and I honestly can't decide whether I'll send it back or keep it. I would really appreciate some honest opinions! I haven't got any shoes to match it yet, but suggestions are welcome. I'm not liking the back at all, and it's gaping slightly - but I could have it altered. I realise fat backs don't look great, especially mine GrinI will be looking a little less pasty on the day!!

Just not sure. I'm 5'5 and 11st 6lbs if that means anything to anyone. Dress is in a size 14 from Oliver Bonas. Thanks so much!

I liked it until I saw the back. You don't have back fat the cut out seems to sit in an odd place and doesn't suit the dress style in my opinion.

Lonesurvivor · 31/05/2018 16:30

AlsoYou've a lovely figure I think you could get something more flattering.

MadgeMak · 31/05/2018 16:31

I agree with previous poster, lovely dress but the cut out is weird.

clownfaces · 31/05/2018 16:31

I think the dress looks lovely but I don't like to cut out at the back. Nothing to do with your back. Could you put a cami under it?

letsdolunch321 · 31/05/2018 16:32

Not likey. Doesn’t flatter your figure at all

MsHomeSlice · 31/05/2018 16:35

that is not flattering at all!

what were the designers thinking??

...ohhh I know, sensible neck line, Amy Farrah-Fowler hemline, OAP sleeves and just to top it off we'll make it in curtain fabric and have a peephole in the small of the back....that's a goer!!

SEND IT BACK! for the love of all that is holy.

MsHomeSlice · 31/05/2018 16:36

what is the function/event/do, I am sure there is something else out there.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 31/05/2018 16:40

I would return it, the back lets it down.

Addy2 · 31/05/2018 16:40

I'm not a fan, personally.

bekindtobees · 31/05/2018 16:41

It's a lovely dress but the back lets it down.

Ferrero83 · 31/05/2018 16:41

I think send it back, you could get something that looks much nicer

OrangeAztec · 31/05/2018 16:42

I think that looks really nice and stylish, really suits your colouring. I would definitely keep it.

OrangeAztec · 31/05/2018 16:43

Ah yes- I didn't see the keyhole back. That ruins it for me. So annoying why do they do this? Love it from the front and side but the back cheapens it.

neveradullmoment99 · 31/05/2018 16:46

Im not fussed for the print. Its quite big and in your face. The back bit is weird.

GinIsIn · 31/05/2018 16:49

It doesn’t look like it fits you at all, sorry! It looks baggy from the front and a bit strained at the back.

Screamingontheinside · 31/05/2018 16:49

I don’t like it, not on you but just don’t like it x

alexd112 · 31/05/2018 16:51

Thanks so much for all of your honest replies. It pretty much sums up what I thought myself. The back is just wrong. Just for comparison, this is the type of dress I would normally wear. Whether it suits me better or not is a whole other story. It's a semi formal event, so if anyone has any outfit ideas, I would be REALLY grateful!! I'm 43 btw if that makes a differenceSmile

The back is odd. What's the function OP?

welshweasel · 31/05/2018 16:55

I think you’d be better in a v neck, with a hemline on the knee, possible a line.

GinIsIn · 31/05/2018 16:57

Definitely a v neck.

Claystone · 31/05/2018 16:58

You can do better. Can you try something a bit more fitted?

mimibunz · 31/05/2018 16:58

I think your lovely figure calls for a v neckline. The blue colour is gorgeous but the boat neck chops off your head and the fit is boxy.

SagelyNodding · 31/05/2018 17:00

The print is lovely but the hemline is a bit strange? I'm wondering if something à little more tailored would suit your figure better-v neck, straight hem falling just below the knee?

alexd112 · 31/05/2018 17:01

In normal circumstances I would agree with the V neck, but unfortunately I have bad sun damage to my upper chest so I tend to avoid them for that reason. Agree with the knee length, definitely hides fat kneesGrin
