Hmm. Where I live sliders are little mini hamburgers....so, no Grin

ClandestineAdulation · 28/05/2018 19:21

They are a trend that I hope will go away very soon... can’t stand them!

frasier · 28/05/2018 19:22

I would slide off and out of them if I tried, so no!

Hoppinggreen · 28/05/2018 19:23

13 year old dd and her mates are, with trackies mainly

Phoebebuffaybannahammock · 28/05/2018 19:26

Nice t shirt and ripped jeans Smile

IggyAce · 28/05/2018 19:31

Hope your not referring to those ghastly fluffy sliders that make the wearer look like they have yeti feet.

Ohyesiam · 28/05/2018 19:33

My 13 year old too. With Nike leggings.

GreySloanMemorial · 28/05/2018 19:33

Yes, but not fluffy ones Grin with shorts and a summery top

AnyFucker · 28/05/2018 19:37

Yes, I have some fab sparkly ones from River Island

I know they are all over the place but I love 'em... a comfy alternative to flip flops

I am wearing them with rolled up jeans and shorts

Nah. Had some cheapo ones last year for holidays but too insubstantial. I treated myself to a pair of metallic copper birkie Arizonas instead. I LOVE them. They look good with pretty much everything - leggings, boyfriend jeans, slim mom jeans with rolled cuffs, Next harems.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 28/05/2018 19:45

Nope.

The fluffy ones look like slippers and the non-fluffy ones should only be worn by lifeguards.

The UK seems a bit late to pick up on them as a fashion thing as the international students I work with were wearing them 18months - 2years ago

ElspethFlashman · 28/05/2018 19:47

I absolutely hate the cheap ones in the shops but there's something about the striped Adidas ones that have stolen my heart. The red and white ones especially. I don't need them..... But......

falang · 28/05/2018 19:50

They are flip flops.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 28/05/2018 19:53

They either look like slippers or shower shoes. Can't stand them and think pretty much everyone looks hideous in them. sorry.

TooMinty · 28/05/2018 19:58

My DH just asked me why he keeps seeing women wearing fluffy slippers in the street. This thread explains it Smile
AF, yours are lovely and don't look anything like slippers.

RavenWings · 28/05/2018 19:58

Oh interesting, I hate sliders but I like those sparkly ones anyfucker has. It may be just that they're glittery and taking me out of athletic sliderland and into sandals Grin

dragonwarrior · 28/05/2018 20:00

Yes Adidas striped ones - this is now my third summer in them. Love them. I wear them with shorts and t-shirts in hot weather.

I wear flip flops with anything else. I only like the sporty ones and they are not to be worn with dresses.

titchy · 28/05/2018 20:01

Aren't those mules anyfucker? I thought sliders were plastic black and white things? Or am I very old? Grin

Coconutty89 · 28/05/2018 20:03

I hated them at first and now I have 4 pairs🤨 I can't stop buying them.

2 of them definitely look like slippers but they're perfect for the school run if it's warm 😂

Pleasebeafleabite · 28/05/2018 20:03

My ds and his entire u14 basketball squad

Great for hot feet post game

AnyFucker · 28/05/2018 20:11

What I like about mine is the wide strap that sits high on the foot so no claw foot required to keep them on

Also, the strap is soft and the underneath almost like material so no hard edges when the heat makes the trotters swell

boomboom12 · 28/05/2018 20:13

To me sliders encompass everything from a Nike pool shoe to the style in the photo. I always think of a mule as a flat closed toe or open toe but with heel.

Anyway I’m not doing the pool ones as I did it in the 90s but have been eyeing up some Marni style ones in Topshop.

Yours are nice AF but I noticed a whole wall of the stripy ones in Sports Direct this weekend and that put me right off them.

Theromanempire · 28/05/2018 20:14

I'm a flip flop girl through and through so no.

But the trend of sportspeople wearing sliders with socks pulled halfway up the shin is seared in my mind and therefore sliders are even more of a no no Grin

Each to their own Smile
