I'll start Smile
It just caught me today that Matalan/Asda George/Tu have really upped their game for pretty and good quality summer holiday clothes. Not everything - there's still far too much lurid sparky polyester (same everywhere tbf)
I'm closer to 50 than 40 and a 16, M&S just don't do it for me and I outgrew topshop many years ago.
I've bought slim cropped cotton trousers in decent colours from Matalan, a really flattering chambray midi wrap dress and stretchy denim shorts from Asda and a couple of pretty tops in cotton from Tu.
I think a total of a dozen things that I'm really pleased with and spent about £100.
Anyone had a low-end epiphany?

There are some really nice summery things in New Look at the moment. Pretty off the shoulder dresses and hippyish prints and fabrics.

I've got this , and it really livens up jeans and a vest .

I bought some really nice tapered leg linen trousers from Primark..they are surprisingly flattering and only £10 a pair.

fabulous, I've ordered these shoes, not sure how good they'll be but they're leather and Sainsbury's clothing tends to be decent quality.

And they deliver free to Argos now, which is going to cost me a fortune!

Peacocks have got some lovely summer clothes at the moment including play suits and cover up dresses for the beach. Really cheap too.

Squ1ggle · 27/05/2018 15:32

So far from me:

  • Linen v neck top from H&M in perfect navy
  • Kind of double layered cami from Asda
  • Plain white linen shirt, M&S.

I'm a 16/18 and definitely find that drapey natural fabrics work best, H&M linen is great and a good price. Hung on a hanger wet no ironing has been needed yet.

Oasis/Warehouse are knocking it out of the park this year. They do periodic 20% off events and I have generally found their clothes wash and wear quite well. I’m currently wearing this dress to death.

Also had shorts, tunic, shirtdress, trousers (but I didn't buy these)

teta · 27/05/2018 19:25

I bought Dd a stunning Schiffly embroidered Cotton blouse from Matalan today. It’s £18 so not very cheap but really stunning on.

Cocolepew · 27/05/2018 19:32

I got a navy slub tshirt in Next for £8 (I think).
Asda also have linen tshirts and shirts.
I love those chinos Hammering.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/05/2018 19:34

I got some tops in Sainsbo's today - all 100% cotton and 25% off.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 27/05/2018 19:39

I live in Tu! We don't have a lot of money, and Sainsbury's is on our doorstep.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 27/05/2018 19:44

Fluffy how wide are the jeggings at the bottom? I have cankles. Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/05/2018 19:54

Me too!😭

They’re not uncomfortable once you have them on. You’d have to try them on, the coloured ones are a tighter fit.

FishFingerInjury · 27/05/2018 20:04

I bough this last year and they seem to have them back again. A lovely, light cotton dress that I’ve worn here and abroad. It has pockets too 👍🏻

Although this years Version seems to be viscose.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 27/05/2018 20:41

Thanks Fluffy, I'll check them out. ☺

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/05/2018 21:18

Perfectly If you have a nectar card go on their webpage and login. Click on search, type “e rewards”. Register.

The surveys are worth 100 to 300 nectar points each, I get loads free in sainsbos now. I combine with the 25% off tu.

GooodMythicalMorning · 27/05/2018 21:25

Lidl trousers are so random in size. Some are tiny and some are massive. I'm a size 12 and yet bought 16/18 size jeggins and cant even get them up my thighs.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 27/05/2018 21:39

I'm registered with e rewards already thanks Fluffy. 😆

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2018 08:10

You are a woman after my own heart Perfectly.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 28/05/2018 08:39

😂

WilburIsSomePig · 28/05/2018 08:56

Love this dress. Simple gold necklace and gold hoops, tan bag and wedges. Felt great for the first time in ages as I have seriously lost my fashion mojo.
