I'm clueless about summer gear, it brings out my inner grump.

Are these sandals nice it not? I'd appreciate your opinion. Thanks Smile

These look like the kind of thing my 80 year old Grandmother wears for doing her gardening in the summer....,,

TheFaerieQueene · 18/05/2018 23:26

No. Just no.

TheFaerieQueene · 18/05/2018 23:29

A quick look came up with these simple sandals

Notcontent · 18/05/2018 23:30

There is just something about them that’s really frumpy... I like old school sandals, but not those!!

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 18/05/2018 23:32

Oh Jesus! I thought they were lovely Grin

I like most sandals as long as they're not Birkenstocks, Saltwater or look like off duty nun's ones.

Could skinny jeans not save these?

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 18/05/2018 23:33

Nothing can save those OP.

EmmaC78 · 18/05/2018 23:33

They are awful.

Wildlingofthewest · 18/05/2018 23:33

No. They are awful.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 18/05/2018 23:34

I thought they had a touch of gladiator about them and I love green Blush

Wildlingofthewest · 18/05/2018 23:36

Well if you like them then go for it. Your feet, your money!

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 18/05/2018 23:36

Thank God I probably don't live anywhere near any of you Grin

If you do see someone wearing these, please be kind Wink

Oh so sorry OP but I am actually wetting myself with laughter at this thread!!

I am style clueless so no judgement from me but it’s your reply and the no just nos from all the posters- sorry it’s hilarious

Anyway I admire anyone whose feet are in a fit enough state to show even a bit of them uncovered in public.

Notthatwomanagain · 18/05/2018 23:38

I can’t see through the tears of laughter

Thank you OP
Was feeling a bit flat tonight but this has cheered me right up!

BikeRunSki · 18/05/2018 23:39

I think they definitely fall into the “off duty nun” category. Green makes them off-duty. If they were brown or black they would be standard nun-wear.

Apologies to any nuns who may be reading.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 18/05/2018 23:46

Listen BikeRunSki I have my midi pleated skirt, long sleeved collared blouse buttoned up to the top with grey Aran tank top and crucifix at the ready to wear with my gorgeous green sandals Grin

Oh bollocks. I thought they could be beautiful. They're in the sale ffs!

How about Merrell? They are mostly very typical walking sandals, but they usually have a few that are a bit more stylish. For example this one.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 18/05/2018 23:51

Glad to bring a smile to your face Notthatwomanagain Flowers

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/05/2018 23:56

You are aware they have velcro on aren't you?

My Mum wears sandals like this for her bad toes.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/05/2018 23:56

But if you really like them, bloody get them!

Battleax · 18/05/2018 23:56

What are your second choice?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/05/2018 23:58

They do have a touch of the gladiator though.

In the respect that you'd have to be about 2000 years old to wear them.

YetAnotherNewName1000 · 19/05/2018 00:02

Oh... i thought they were nice (in fact i've got a pair very similar) and i like them. I must be very old and frumpy....but i don't care! My sandals (like these) are very comfy. And i'm a comfort over style person.
