Do you often get told you look nice?

By your partner, friends, colleagues? I like clothes and makeup and always hope I look ok but never seem to get told it. Sometimes gets me down I suppose!

Never and I make an effort too.

DP tells me I'm beautiful everyday, it's become his cheesy line, have I told you how beautiful you're looking today, it's become more of a joke than a compliment.
People always comment on my hair wherever I go, ive got blonde natural ringlets, love the compliments but hate the touching.
DD compliments what I wear (I then find it missing from my wardrobe and never to be seen again)
I'm not particularly stylish but know what suits me and I often get asked where I've brought a top or a dress.
I'm petite and often get comments on my figure, most nice, some spiteful as in oh you skinny bitch, don't stand next to me. One particular 'friend' does this.

By DP - two or three stimes a week

By mom - every time I see her. She really does think that me and my sister and our DDs are the most beautiful creatures that walk the earth

By friends: quite often yes.

By colleagues / work clients: quite often too. I got told by a very elderly and gentlemanly elder of my industry that I looked very "trim" yesterday. I was thrilled by that, mainly because he used such a 50s style word and he is just lovely

I also do compliment people

I am by no means a looker at all and I'm in my 50s

BitOutOfPractice · 09/05/2018 16:49

Oh and my DDs do too. DD2 said it just today.

Maybe I'm gorgeouser than I though Grin

Yes I do because I've recently lost some weight (half a stone maybe?) and so am much more toned and feeling v confident.

I think it's more to do with attitude than anything else.

HAVING SAID WHICH I think Botox is bloody amazing and a little bit of that will change your life.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/05/2018 20:08

Not often. Sometimes people say they like something I am wearing but not really say 'I look nice'. Its more, Oh that's a lovely jacket or from my mum, 'You really suited that dress.'

Madonnasmum · 09/05/2018 21:17

By friends and colleagues I get complimented a couple of times a week but I do make an effort and select outfits and accessories. I am 'known' for dressing well. It's my thing. I love it.
DH? Never!!! But I don't care as I'm pretty confident.

Olddear · 10/05/2018 13:24

Oh, and I compliment others! It's always nice to boost someone's confidence even if it's to say you like the shade of lipstick they're wearing etc.
