Oh look now twice!!!! Duh!

DavetheCat2001 · 13/05/2018 17:59

cherries that would be amazing if you wouldn't mind?

I'm in London myself but working this week/school runs etc so no chance of getting to the shops Sad

ilovecherries · 13/05/2018 18:02

Right, Hushistas! Sartorial advice required. Hick from the sticks (me!) having day out in London. I mentioned before that student daughter hasn't been well recently, and was in hospital on her birthday, so I promised her a day out in London (Shopping, drinks, early dinner) when she felt up to it. She's getting an early morning train from Dundee, and I'm getting on the same train in Newcastle. Will be walking a lot, so anything I wear must be able to withstand me wearing proper lacing trainers (with socks!). We won't be going anywhere super posh, just somewhere with a relaxed, laid back vibe, with lots of coffee stops throughout the day, then home by about 10.30pm. From my extensive hush wardrobe, what can I wear that will be ok with trainers (leopard, silver, navy or Nike liberty print are all options), and will take me from right through from early morning till late evening? Jacket options are denim, black leather or grey blazer. Plus I think it's going to be hot.

ilovecherries · 13/05/2018 18:03

No problem, Dave. Will pay cash if they have it, and send the receipt on with it, so you can return easily yourself if you need to.

DavetheCat2001 · 13/05/2018 18:22

cherries thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

If you do happen to get one I can transfer the £££ straight into you b/acc. x

Have a fab day in London with your DD Smile

Laska5772 · 13/05/2018 18:32

Cherries got any cropped jeans?
Those and the Athena blouse .. silver trainers? .. put a vest top in your bag JIC it turns cool..

Ellapaella · 13/05/2018 18:57

Cherries your black Alanis dress with a denim jacket, accessorised with the nice jewellery in your photo below (the pic of you in the Kerala blouse). Trainers will give a more chilled and laid back look (I'd go with silver). A nice light scarf thrown on would look good.
Loads of opinions, probably all a bit weather dependent but highly likely to be hot in London compared to up here in the Toon, plus it will be warm walking round shops etc.

Options not opinions! I hate the spell check on iPhone!

Laska, love your photos. Particularly love the orange (is it panel?) dress and the leopard skirt.

Having looked at yours Laska I think I did. It looks good on you, the print really suits - loving the Ivy as well.
After all of last weeks saga, we’re just waiting to here re DH’s job and then have possibly found a house to buy.( got mumsnet to remove the post as with hindsight could have been a bit identifying to anyone that knows us) It means ringing Tui and probably postponing this years summer hols to next, but feeling much more positive - no money or need for any summer clothes though so will be saving/ asking for Hush birthday vouchers for this years A/W collection .
Enjoying looking at everyone else’s purchases, just wore an old khaki sloppy joe with long vest today as slobbing at home.
Have a lovely day tomorrow Cherries with your daughter Flowers

ilovecherries · 13/05/2018 19:29

Ella, that sounds terrifyingly daring! Can I really wear trainers (and socks, which NEVER are completely hidden) with a maxi dress, in daylight, in the UK? DD would probably be impressed...

Ellapaella · 13/05/2018 19:47

Weeeell... obviously if socks are hidden it would be better Grin
Maxi dress and trainers definitely work together though.. have you tried the little pop over socks which literally just cover your toes and heel? They do them in Primark and they have grips which keep them firmly on your foot so they don't slide down.
Alternatively what about the black trousers and Kerala blouse in your photo? Or the blouse with boyfriend jeans?

Laska5772 · 13/05/2018 19:56

I wouldn't wear the Alanis dress or the panel maxis in British weather unless it was over 26 deg. but then I am a soft southerner! Grin

Ella yes the panel maxi. I

Annoyingly i have just discovered that White Stuff are having a 20% online offer (i bought my WS top from JL and they aren't price matching this offer ) .

Have ordered it again from WS and will take the other one back when I go over next to see DM.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/05/2018 19:58

I have worn maxi skirts and trainers loads of times! I just don't tend to wear maxi skirts atm. Actually I don't even own any! I have often worn tights, trainers and my denim skirt though.
Its interesting how different people dress. I was abroad and there were so many people wearing cropped wide legs, socks and trainers.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/05/2018 19:59

...and I mean visible socks either short or right up to the cropped part. That's Scandi style!

ilovecherries · 13/05/2018 20:28

I think I want to be Scandi ;).

Laska, JL had 20% off on WS on Friday. I bought a couple of plain linen tees.

Ella, I just asked DD about the maxi dress and she condescendingly reminded me we'd be in LONDON, mum, not the middle of Fife! Have laid it out in case I'm brave at 6am!

ilovecherries · 13/05/2018 20:55

I.e., she meant that I was being parochial to think it might not be ok, rather than that half of Fife is stylish.

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2018 21:08

Hi, I have lurked on these threads & what really resonated with me was a few posts, quite a few pages back now of how some of you have battled life’s various brick bats & how investing in better quality clothes has helped a bit in making you feel better, I feel like this as well have dealt with some serious & ongoing health issues etc etc & would very much like to up my game in the style stakes.
My difficulty is though I am very short (4ft10”) & quite scrawny I have quite large breasts 32e but very small waist/hips so I tend to live in skinny jeans/t shirts/jackets or fitted dresses.
Any pointers as to any if the hush clothes, that might suit also sizing info would be good thank you.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/05/2018 21:17

Welcome dontcallmelen Glad you finally decided to post. Its funny how just a bit of TLC to yourself can make things a bit brighter. Happy to help regarding sizing of anything you are interested in Hush wise. As you can tell, between us all there is bound to be someone that has tried on something!!
Cherries Have a fantastic day tomorrow. Its meant to be quite warm here but Booooo I am in work!!!! gggrrr!!! I wont likely see any of it. I am sure you will look fab in you maxi dress, denim jacket and trainers. Wear with confidence. Its all very European in London Grin

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2018 21:23

@neveradullmoment99 thank you, I really like the denim skirt also the jeans look really nice (usually wear Jamie jeans from top shop) the Venice beach dress, I think I’m way to short for the maxi dresses/skirts.
Also like the thin jumpers & sweat tops.

Laska5772 · 13/05/2018 21:36

Dontcallme Hi , welcome, Beware Hush is addictive!.

I think you'd suit the Venice beach dress, the Tara dress, and maybe the Marissa dress if you like prints and floaty styles.. I saw that dress today in JL but I am way too chunky (and old!) for it .

The Raw edge mini would probably look good on you, also

neveradullmoment99 · 13/05/2018 21:40

I reckon the beach dress would be good on you to and the denim skirts are good - I have both. Maybe the shorter one would be good if you are petite? I am 5.5 or so and the longer version is to my knee. What sort of size are you?

neveradullmoment99 · 13/05/2018 21:41

I also think the tara, especially the V-neck very flattering on the endowed chest rather than the slash neck.
