Wide leg jeans - yay or ney (with photos!)

Hello, I need some advice about jeans. I’ve been wearing skinnies since I went to university well over a decade ago and I fancy a change. Plus, I’ve recently had a baby so I’m not quite the same shape as I was...
I’d like something wide leg and casual, but I’m 5ft11 tall and I’m always afraid of looking bulky.

I want to love these (because they were a bargain and they’ve got cracking pockets!) but I’m just not sure. What do you think? Should I keep them? Or stick with my trusty old skinnies (in the last photo)?

I like the wide leg ones, maybe try a pair that are a bit more figure hugging around the waist/bum/hips as they would flatter your figure more.

I love big wide leg jeans with flip flops and a tshirt at this time of year Smile

You need to wear them with a tight top rather than a baggy one as well.

I love the first ones but in a size smaller and slightly shorter.

I like the wrangler boyfriend jeans, I think they look good. Not keen on the black ones personally.

Fold the legs on the Wranglers up one more time and you will be sorted. Ankles it would appear are in.

Yes to the Wranglers, agree with the suggestion for a bit of cheeky ankle flash. Wear with a tighter top and you’ll look great Grin

the boyfriend fit look great but I agree with everyone else that a tighter top would look better. the cropped jeans look ok because you have a stunning figure but they aren't actually that nice imo. xx

I don’t have scoliosis - I do have poor posture though! I’m leaning over in the photos because my baby is on the bed, and he’s not interested in jeans...

I shouldn’t keep both, but they’re from tk maxx, so I could probably get away with it! I’ll see what they look like with different tops tomorrow (although I’m not feeling confident enough to wear anything tight at the moment).

Thank you for your opinions everyone Smile I’ve been feeling quite lost, clothing wise, since I had the baby so it’s great to be able to ask the experts!

I liked the first ones, I had a pair like that from French Connection in the late 90s/00s that I loved. Wish I still had them.
The cropped ones are terrible. Very frumpy.
And the last ones are fine.
The skinnies look good one you too though (where did you get the best in the first picture please I really like it!)

I've been wearing wide leg jeans for 32 years, so consider myself an expert Wink the most flattering are fitted around the bum and hips and then wide from the thighs down. Next do great wide leg jeans. I'm not a fan of next but whenever I need to stock up on jeans I buy next wide leg from eBay and I'm never disappointed. You look lovely in your skinnies though - had I not had chicken legs i might have tried them myself!

My vote is for the Wranglers which look amazing! I am off to hunt some down myself!

For other straight jeans, I found Next XXL are great and M&S straight jeans are actually ok and very long too, but take a size smaller.

Maybe Carhartt if you want the real slouchy boyfriend look? But quite pricey.

Definite yes to the Wrangler ones. The black pair are a close second. Do a small fold and then a bigger one so the turn ups look neater.

And this is really rude and I am sorry, but if that's your everyday bra you're wearing, I think you would really benefit from a measure and a new bra. If it's your comfy around the house or breastfeeding bra then ignore me. Cake

Yay here. The boyfriend style is very in, chic girl Paris and LA have this look going on all the time. Go for it, you look lovely!
