Wide leg jeans - yay or ney (with photos!)

Hello, I need some advice about jeans. I’ve been wearing skinnies since I went to university well over a decade ago and I fancy a change. Plus, I’ve recently had a baby so I’m not quite the same shape as I was...
I’d like something wide leg and casual, but I’m 5ft11 tall and I’m always afraid of looking bulky.

I want to love these (because they were a bargain and they’ve got cracking pockets!) but I’m just not sure. What do you think? Should I keep them? Or stick with my trusty old skinnies (in the last photo)?

Skinners look better on you imo. The 'wide leg' aren't really wide leg to me, they need to be wider of have a different name. I'm in the minority here, but I think the wide leg ones look much better overall, though that pair are a little big around the waist. The skinnies just look dated to me.

On the website it say to size down if you want to wear them high than on your hips. Maybe worth exchanging them for a size or two smaller.

I agree they look too big. Less boyfriend jeans, more dad jeans.

I agree with sadik too. I like that oversized, hanging-off-your-hips look. I'm bored with skinnies now.

I’m also bored with skinnies. I got these recently and love them. I either wear them with trainers or wooden platforms and a fitted top.
I get loads of complements (they come in black too).

I love the wide leg ones. They look great.

I think you'd suit more of a wife leg sailor style, as in nice and fitted around the top and bottom going out to a nice flare.

I wear wide legs, hanging off hips. They are great but not with that top you’ve got on, as it immediately renders you shapeless by flaring out at the waist. I wear mine with very fitted tops so that I have shape.

The skinny jeans are more flattering but look a bit too big. Perhaps the size down would be good? The wife ones look ok but they swamp your figure and from the looks of it you have a nice one so should show it off!

Sorry, not a good look, they just do not fit well.

Get a size smaller and rolled up to the ankle.

Turn the hems up on the wide legs and they're fantastic.

And wear a close fitting top too. Baggy top and bottom isn't flattering.

The skinny ones are so much more flattering.

I love the wide legs look on you, but that pair are too big. Far too big in the hips, bum and waist.

The idea is good but that particular pair look too much like mens jeans.

Size down and then turn them up a bit.
I do really like them though. They are cooler than skinnies.

I think they are too long in the leg sorry. Prefer the skinnies. Why not try some Mom or boyfriend jeans if you fancy something different but more flattering?

Please could I ask your opinions on a couple more potential pairs? They’re both a bit closer to what I’m used to, so potentially a bit safe (but I feel more comfortable in them!)
