Are these jeans flattering on me ?

Hi just got these 'farliegh' jeans from Asos.
Am so used to skinnies so thought I'd try something different but not sure if they're flattering or not . Prior to having dc3 I was so sure about my fashion sense but years of utter sleep deprivation and other issues have meant I've totally stopped bothering making an effort to even wear a nice pair of jeans so this is a big step for me .
Honest opinions plz . For the record am 5 foot tall.
Also what size / size range would you say I am ? My sister who dresses amazingly well always tells me I am going for the wrong sizes and that's part of the problem.

I'm looking at the river island ones anyfucker any specfic recommendations ? Kept the tags on the ASOS ones as still can't decide !
Also have attached another pic for more opinions please
Bought these for work and smart /casual
Going a bit crazy buying trousers as haven't treated myself to clothes in years .
Do these look baggy on the hips again ?
They're a size 8.
Thank you.

I think the white ones look way too baggy on the bum/thighs. You have a fab figure but they're too big.

Phase84 · 24/04/2018 19:51

White ones are too baggy and blue ones suit. You had 3dc??? Amazing figure!!! Show it off!!!

AnyFucker · 24/04/2018 20:00

Haven't tried any specific ones this season in River Island but they are generally good

AnyFucker · 24/04/2018 20:01

Those last ones are horrible, sorry

AnyFucker · 24/04/2018 20:02

If you want some chino types get to H+M

KatherinaMinola · 24/04/2018 20:06

Not those white ones! Take them back OP, they don't do you any favours.

WildCherryBlossom · 24/04/2018 20:09

The second pair do look too big. You are in great shape, keep looking as there will be loads out there that suits you. Are you able to get into town without the children and try a load of things on (appreciate this isn't easy - I once crammed myself into a changing room with a toddler in a pram AND a baby in a sling in a desperate attempt to find some trousers which fit 😭)

uberqueen · 24/04/2018 20:09

I'm only 5' and find the H&M ones too long as they don't have them in short / petite length

OP posts:
SwedishEdith · 24/04/2018 20:09

Last ones are way too big. If you want similar, try Uniqlo.

BlancheM · 24/04/2018 20:11

Those jeans look so good on you! Hardly anyone suits that style, you lucky thing.

LolitaLempicka · 24/04/2018 20:12

Not flattering at all, they look really shapeless.

uberqueen · 24/04/2018 20:12

Funnily enough wild I really struggle to find anything because of my height and because am so straight up/down

uberqueen · 24/04/2018 20:15

The older dc are in secondary school now it's just dc3 who absolutely won't sit in a buggy for longer than 10 min so I've been resigned to online shopping but would love to just try a whole load of trousers in store . Think I'll have to make it a priority , get childcare sorted and go.

Wallabyone · 24/04/2018 21:04

Last ones are too big and too long. Try Zara. You have a lovely figure x

Bluntness100 · 24/04/2018 22:23

Yup, the last ones are too big and aren't flattering. Sorry op.

It's a bugger isn't it. When you find a pair to fit, then buy them in different colours and multiples. 😁

VladPutin · 24/04/2018 22:27

They’re too long in the body OP
too much fabric at crotch

BlueEyedWonder · 24/04/2018 22:28

You’re the same height and size as me. It’s a struggle getting things to fit well at 5ft. I find Topshop petite range good for jeans.

uberqueen · 24/04/2018 22:33

God I really am way out with my judgement here . I thought you'd all like the grey ones but it's a unanimous 'they're horrendous ' . Looking back at the picture , yes they look silly big . Am used to having everything falling off me and am not quite sure why Blush

Instead of the second pair you posted, you need Gap bi-stretch trousers which are often recommended on here. They're slimmer fitting and come in Petite too. Might have to size down a bit though.

Somersetter · 24/04/2018 23:15

They come in loads of different colours so ignore the floral ones that link seems to default to!

Snakie · 24/04/2018 23:20

Or try gap city slim crop. I’m short (5’2) and they are not cropped, more like the perfect ankle length trouser! So you might need petite.

Bettyfood · 25/04/2018 05:23

Try Hollister, OP. They have loads of jeans for the more petite.

And please don't describe yourself as thick waisted when you fit in 26" waist jeans!

Graduate223 · 25/04/2018 05:52

Wow the jeans look great on you! The second trousers look too baggy sorry. Try a size smaller.

LuckyLou59 · 25/04/2018 06:06

I like the cut but think they need to be pulled up a tiny bit more. Only problem is they look like they're already a bit short at the ankle so this would make it worse. I say try on a few more pairs until you find some that fit perfectly. Topshop to amazing 'mom' jeans!
