I don't often wear red, but have a few nights out coming up so thought I'd get a new one. I don't have a red that I love at the moment so popped into boots today to have a look. The lady at smashbox was fantastic, really helpful. She helped me try some on and we decided on Bing. It's a classic red, matte but comfortable. Never had a smashbox lipstick before, but think this might become my new favourite. What are your favorites everyone?

Mac Ruby Woo for me! Looks good on almost any skin tone, works particularly well for my very fair, cool toned skin and makes my teeth look whiter.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 10/04/2018 20:19

Dior 999, I am very fair and pale and this looks as if it would make me look like a little girl who has been in her mum's make up but it doesn't. It's also lovely and buttery.

I love Bobbie Brown nude. It’s not nude at all it’s a quite bright red. Really flattering. I’m on my second.

lurkymclurkerson · 10/04/2018 20:21

Bang by Urban Decay for a nice orangey red or (hate the name) Gash for a darker lip Smile

UnaMagdalena · 10/04/2018 20:26

Bobbi Brown Ruby is the only red I can wear. (very pale).

I want to try charlotte tilbury walk of shame though as that's quite an orangey brown.

Can anybody recommend a brown red?

stoplickingthetelly · 10/04/2018 20:26

Going to check out some of these. They sound lovely. I've come to the conclusion that it's worth spending a bit more on a really good red.

Laura Geller - Love Me Dew Lip Crayon in Cherry Punch.

Lime Crime - Velvetines in Red Velvet - this literally doesn't budge, lasts all day (and night) and isn't drying even though it's a matte liquid lipstick.

Lotsofsausage · 10/04/2018 20:37

Mac lady danger, it's a lovely orangey toned red.

SauvignonBlah · 10/04/2018 20:37

Estee Lauder Red Door Red, MAC Brave Red, Clinique Cherry Pop and Charlotte Tilbury Tell Laura. I have a red lip habit!

Elemental · 10/04/2018 20:42

Ruby Woo, NARS Velvet Matte pencil in Consuming Red, Bobbie Brown Burnt Red, Bobbie Brown art stick in Cassis. I like the a red on the orangery/brown side, although I’ve just got Ruby Woo after thinking it wouldn’t suit me and I love it.

colonelgoldfish · 10/04/2018 20:48

Ruby Woo is fabulous! Such a great red.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 10/04/2018 20:48

Mac Ruby Woo! I've never been one to wear strong colours but I just love this and always get compliments.

stoplickingthetelly · 10/04/2018 20:50

Everley I wish I could wear liquid lipstick. I tried and tried, but I just can't put it on properly. It always ends up looking a mess.

stoplickingthetelly I've had various levels of success with liquid lipsticks, the Lime Crime ones are the easiest for me. I don't use lip liner with them and tend to dab it on my lip and use my finger to smear it on (very technical, not!) If I just apply it straight from the wand onto my lip it often smudges everywhere.

paradyning · 10/04/2018 21:05

Chanel la fascinante.
Ruby woo looks terrible on me!

stoplickingthetelly · 10/04/2018 21:05

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I've been using the applicator to paint it on, but it just ends up a mess.

I really hate ruby woo. It's very drying and goes bobbly on me. Maybelline siren in Scarlett matte is gorgeous. It's creamy and matte but doesn't go chalky and dry. And it's only £7Grin

SorrelForbes · 10/04/2018 21:09

Chanel Passion and Estee Lauder Red Ego

Elemental how do you find the Bobbi Brown art stick? Quite like the idea of a lipstick pencil. Is it very drying?

UnaMagdalena · 10/04/2018 21:31

That is lovely byallmeans I presume that it isn't that intense after first coat!

Botanicbaby · 10/04/2018 22:00

Mac Russian Red.

ByAllMeansMoveAtAGlacialPace · 10/04/2018 22:01
