Are New Balance trainers comfy?

Saw some in the sale, they look really comfy, but I need just a plain pair of trainers just to do the shopping in/walk about in that won't make my feet ache after a few hours. Would New Balance be a good choice?

Mine are comfy, I've happily walked round Legoland in them!

SophieP1 · 10/04/2018 18:35

Okay, I might give them a go then! What's the sizing like? Are they good quality?

Yep. The sizing is true to form in my opinion. Some styles quite a narrow fit though.

AnyFucker · 10/04/2018 18:39

Where is the sale ?

DialsMavis · 10/04/2018 18:41

Yes! I am a recent convert

CanIBuffalo · 10/04/2018 18:41

They are. My chiropodist recommended them too.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 10/04/2018 18:42

I've worn New Balance trainers for years, I normally find Sports Direct/M and M direct the cheapest places to get them Smile

SophieP1 · 10/04/2018 18:43

They have a very small selection in the sale on Schuh

Yes, I love mine.

ChesterBelloc · 12/04/2018 12:33

Any NB styles that are known to be better for wider feet, sore heels, and with arch support..? I like how they look, but the number of different styles is mind-boggling!

AnnaHindrer · 12/04/2018 13:48

OP they’re amazing! I’ve been wearing mine for a yr now. They’re cool, comfortable and fashionable and that’s coming from someone that can’t wear heels.

Mercurial123 · 12/04/2018 13:57

I've had mine for two years they are really comfortable.

SometimesMaybe · 12/04/2018 14:02

I got my first pair last year and won’t be going back to converse. They are so light and look really smart too.

Bombardier25966 · 12/04/2018 14:22

I love them, got the 373 ones. @ChesterBelloc, probably not the best for wide feet, but they are supportive for a high arch, although they don't look it. I thought they'd be too flat for me but no problems with plantar facilities since wearing them either.

If you’re under a uk 5.5 the kids outlet section of the new balance website is great and such a bargain. Some styles are under £20. It’s worth checking the boys and the girls sections too.

Celticlassie · 12/04/2018 16:24

I loved mine. They got me through New York!
I have fairly narrow feet.

LivBonas · 12/04/2018 16:25

Sophie , I'm glad you made a thread about New Balance as I've been meaning to buy a pair for ages! Does anyone own these, or have a similar style? If so, what do you think of them? www.asos.com/new-balance/new-balance-996-trainers-in-metallic-pink/prd/9099772?affid=14173&channelref=product+search&mk=abc&currencyid=1&ppcadref=761030383%7C39786894403%7Caud-108719242581%3Apla-428277601413&_cclid=v3_e154e69a-02d9-5c24-b085-2b2bb5e1276f&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5MCTs4W12gIV6JztCh3T8QxBEAQYAyABEgIQ3fD_BwE

CallarMorvern · 12/04/2018 16:27

I have 373 too and my feet are wide, though I sized up.

Drum71 · 12/04/2018 17:23

I’ll say otherwise. I really can’t wear mine for long periods of time. I wore them for a days walking a month ago. Both nails on my big toes are heavily bruised. Must be my feet shape or something. I can’t wear converse for long periods of time either.

Violetroselily · 12/04/2018 18:55

I have 2 pairs of 373s and find them very comfortable. I’m a wide size 9 and they fit perfectly

hugoagogo · 12/04/2018 18:59

They were one of the brands suggested to me by my podiatrist for plantar fasciitis.

Notonthestairs · 12/04/2018 19:18

I hated my NB trainers - they were supportive but so very narrow. I catch a glimpse of them in the porch occasionally and give them a glare.

HyenaHappy · 12/04/2018 19:40

I love them. I needed to size up though I’m usyally around a 5.5 so bought a 6. I have narrow feet. They’re very comfy.

CallarMorvern · 12/04/2018 21:06

Usually this only happens when trainers are too small, especially when running/hard walking.

minipie · 12/04/2018 21:23

Yes! I have kids' ones (I'm a size 4.5 and prefer velcro to laces), cheap as chips, I've been surprised how comfy they are and how well they've lasted - I do a lot of walking and wear them most days. They also seem to breathe better than some other trainers I've had.
