Are New Balance trainers comfy?

Saw some in the sale, they look really comfy, but I need just a plain pair of trainers just to do the shopping in/walk about in that won't make my feet ache after a few hours. Would New Balance be a good choice?

Thanks, Bombardier. I'll try to get to a shop to try on some 373's.

I find them very comfortable and usually my feet a picky bastards. I do find that I need to size up though. They do run a bit small.

520 I found uncomfortable and got rid of. Second pair, (574?) much more comfier. I size up - I've got wide toes - think that's why I found 520 not good.

I didn't like mine, found my feet really aching after wearing them on a long shift.
I've just got a pair of north face ones which are fab.

I bought some 373s in the Office sale last week. Very comfy, but I did have to size up to a 6.5 - I'm usually a 6, with average width feet.

The only thing I'd say is that I could probably do with a bit more arch support, but that's pretty minor really.

I've got several pairs of the 574s which are great for my wide feet.

I've got the 247 in black and I love them

Sally - do the 373's have a little bit of arch support, then? Just not much? I don't need loads, but can't be dealing with a totally flat sole.

The 574's look nice too; do they have a bit of arch support? The 'foam' version sounds like the sole would be even bouncier...

(Really appreciate all the detailed help Thanks)

Chester - they're definitely not as flat or as hard on the sole as converse (and I bought these to replace my aged leather pair of converse). I guess I'm comparing them to my gym trainers which by their nature are more supportive.

It's not a deal breaker for me and the NB trainers are very comfy. I'd try before you buy though - they do come up a bit small imo, and I'm glad I took a punt and went up half a size.
